OT: Bird Cries Mary - pretty amazing performance by this wild bird

Some of you may enjoy this wild bird who has chosen to accompany me during my backyard rehearsals this summer. She comes very close and often modulated keys and certainly is very responsive to timing. Extrordinary for sure.

Some will say she had to dumb down jam with me, probably so. She likes Jimi Hendrix and that's what this one is from. Check it out if you want. Brought a smile to my face. peace

Great Naturalust...................always find your songs sound a bit dramatically (fun though).............are your eyes closed when you play-guitar/sing?

Thanks NICOS, dramatically fun? sounds ok to me. I am becoming more aware of that as time goes on. The answer is yes sometimes they are, especially when whatever's in front of me is distracting and not contributing somehow. When the bird joins me we are usually looking and listening to each other.

When playing songs that are really well rehearsed, more like muscle memory, I can ocasionally get outside myself and kind of watch the whole thing from the outside. In that case the answer is rather ambiguous. peace

Naturalust, I have a question for you that has nothing to do to with music but with English language :
I thought that for animals, the article should be "it" except for pets, dogs or cats. Then depending if the pets are male or female, one can use " she" or " he "
Am I right?
How can one know if a bird is a male or female?
Thanks for the free English lesson :-)

Sway, bird are usually very diffrent in their coloring, males are generally bright and flashy while females are generally less colorful and more camoflaged to hide in the nest when birthing and rearing the chicks. A good example of this is the cardinal, males are bright red while females are browner and less colorful.

This is not always the case but I belive the singing bird in this song is a female.

Best to you. peace

Humans? I will leave that subject to the many wise people on this board.

One funny thing about animals is that the females are often so picky about characteristics they find attractive in breeding it can actually lead to the extinction of the species. The example I am thinking of is the type of elk in which the females preferred HUGE racks of antlers on the males but they eventually got so big as to hinder the males survival and eventually wipe out the species. The males would get stuck just trying to get between the trees in the forest.. wow peace
