Wouldn't they had make already an anouncement if they were to tour next autumn?

It's my undestanding that the Stones will only play a few venues with multiple shows. Hopefully, HBO or some other outlet will have one televised.

So glad Bill is joining them for this. That makes it special. Hopefully they involve MT somehow as well. "Autumn" is not far away!

He is? Officially? Then they can call this the "Four Wheels" tour.

Haha, StonesTod... Sorry if I said he "is" joining them... I know it won't be official until they say he "is" joining them, but he did rehearse with them so I am hoping/assuming he will play with them this fall.

I don't know, I kind of like the idea of Bill being in the band. For some reason, I can never spell Daryl's name right. I keep forgetting it has 2 rr's. At least I know Bill spells his name with 2 ll's.

i will be asking others to join me in raising banners at the show, demanding: "Bring Back Darryl!"

hey...if they let bill back, next you know taylor will be back and then this band will be completely unrecognizable...i say we stop this madness before it begins.

Who cares about darryl? Im not trying to be mean or anything but honestly I could careless about darrly jones being around. People want to see the original members back together, not some guy who has been filling in in a unofficial capacity for 20 years. Bill and Mick T is where its at.

You're right, Gazza, it does not specifically say Bill will join them, my mistake. Bill joined them in NY, and Keith said it went well, like he never left the band, etc... I am making assumptions. I do expect Bill to join them, however. I am not intending to start rumors, I guess I just thought the article said more than it did, hinting at Bill joining them. I think it was this:

"The band had met for rehearsals in New York, where they were joined by former bassist Bill Wyman, but have been tight-lipped about their touring plans.

Jagger, 68, told the Standard: 'You will definitely be seeing us all together soon. It’s been great fun being back together and there are a lot of memories in here.'"

So... if a tour or some shows are planned, does anyone know of any venues booked?

I guess information would have appeared here already if someone's prepared to share it with us but no harm in asking.

Its on like donkey kong.

Nothing like hearing the word "definitely" from Mick himself.

I think the 'journalist' is putting things together and coming up with Bill was in NY rehearsing with them. I don't remember anything about him traveling to the U.S. That alone would be news as he hasn't been here in over a decade. Rehearsing in London, that's pretty much known. And what his role is on this tour is still up in the air.

Did I read all the comments correctly, Bill rehearsed with them twice, once in London back in December and according to Ronnie for 5 days in New York (sometime in early July and 50 songs rehearsed)? Maybe Ronnie has his dates mixed up? Bill flew into New York for rehearsals?

Gazza, could that be true?

Also, as you stated on another thread, 1 week at Madison Square Garden would be 4 shows at the maximum.

Now at last it makes sense as to why they waited till their 50th anniv to play live again--it takes off the pressure of coming up with a new album, which would just be overshadowed by the hoopla of their 50th. 40 Licks has just 4 songs, now out of print. Other than their 40th and 50th annivs, they have always toured behind the force of new recordings. Now they can just rehearse what they know and hit the road. But if Bill W and Mick T are involved, then a new album would actually be great! But I don't think that will happen, unfortunately. By the way, how many albums are still owed per their current contract? You know there will be at least a live album out next year from this year's shows.

The bit about Wyman joining them in New York is not correct. Don Was (and later, Darryl Jones) played bass at these sessions. Wyman played with them in London in December. Bill hasn't been in the US for over a decade. Sloppy journalism. There's been a lot of that in the last couple of days, unfortunately.

Jagger's quote wasnt made in reference to the paragraph preceding it, which is the journalist's words. By 'all of us' Mick meant the Stones. He didnt specify any additional personnel (I'm not saying it wont/cant happen, but Mick has said nothing to suggest it's the case).

As mentioned just above, Bill did NOT play at the band rehearsals in NYC and Weehawken, NJ in early May.

Ronnie's quote as reported by Reuters (who did the interview) :

"I saw him last week and he was in top form, rocking," Wood said. "We also did a rehearsal with him a few weeks ago." "It's like he'd never been away."

By ' a few weeks ago', he's exaggerating for dramatic effect. It was in December. In fairness, it makes it easy to assume he means the May session.

The 'last week' he's referring to was the blues gig they played in London on June 30th.

Charlie and Ronnie's recent quotes in their Rollingstone.com interview dont mention Bill as being part of the session they did in May :

On the red carpet, drummer Charlie Watts confirmed to Rolling Stone that the band had been practicing again, although he said it had "not yet" made any concrete plans for their live return.

"We've been playing, not rehearsing," he said with a smile.

"We had a good play in New York a few weeks ago," added guitarist Ronnie Wood. "We did 50 songs in five days. It was brilliant."

For me, the word 'confirms' is the most important:

It was simply fantastic to see the Stones going into a house two days ago. I hope that they will be so kind to, if they will play, they will let us know where they will play.

Why don't we just get them to do a tour of houses? They could engage a realtor fairly easily, and it wouldn't cost us or them anything, unless of course they found that perfect property.
