Bring Wyman back!
Posted by: Karrob ()

With all the things going on in London right now. Argh! I want Bill Wyman back. Damn it! Just one last time!

"you don't know what you got until it's gone"

When Wyman was a member of the group, who felt like he was an integral part of the Stones? Impossible to replace?
Not me, I'm unfortunately to say. But as the years have passed since he left,
I have more and more come to appreciate what he has contributed to the group as a whole.
After seeing Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings several times over the years. Listening to that bass playing,
without being distracted by the others at the front of the stage. I have gone back to the studio recordings, listened to the bootlegs from 1981-82, etc.
You know it all. I have only one wish, one selfish wish. To witness, one last time, The Rolling Stones,
with the rhythm section of Watts and Wyman backing Jagger and Richards.

One last time. Please.

Thank you for your attention!

Flying and age are two problems here...

He QUIT! Sorry, as much as I love Bill, I don't wee why, when you quit your job, you get to join in for all the accolades 20 years after the fact. I love the Bill era and the Mick T era, but they made their choice to step out and if The Stones choose not to let them rejoin, then so be it. F 'em.

He QUIT! .

He did at that!
Its like when the top brass quits at a fortune 500 company.
They are welcome back at anytime!!! Even with special accommodations.

Come What May

Well it's not really the same thing as going back for accolades from an accounting firm you used to work in. The Stones are celebrating a creative body of work they have done over the last 50 years. So it would be wrong not to include Bill & Mick T in my opinion. They were significant contributors during their tenures which were a part of those 50 years , so they should be included. Just my opinion...

As I understand it, if and when they are going to do shows, he is back.

Well, he is retired somewhat. But he was at the jam in December so maybe he'll do a cameo.

But according to Ronnie - or the media reporting his sayings - yesterday, he had been in their actual reherseals recently.

Age is not a problem for Bill not moving on stage Wyman. Fly ? 10 gigs at O2.
Other questions ?

The Forum was recently bought by the MSG Co. (Madison Square Garden).
They still have shows there, just not like the old day.
I saw Dylan there, and the Stones last time around.

Taylor? No thanks! Wyman? Would be nice if they could recreate that fantastic 89-90 sound again. But there is no chance in the world Keith will be able to play that good again, so Wyman, no thanks! He wouldn´t add anything to Stones version 2012, and there is over 20 years since he was a member of the band.

I have great memories of shows at the Forum: The Stones, Cream, with Deep Purple, Three Dog Night, Steppenwolf, and more.

I do hope Bill rejoins them for at least a few gigs.

I've often wondered if Bill ever regretted his decision. Has the door always been open for him to rejoin had he chosen to?

But....how can you watch/listen to L&G and Brussels Affair and not think it might kind of cool to see Bill and Mick T on stage with the current Stones and playing You Can't Always Get What You Want for example? Or Dead Flowers? Or Can't You Hear Me Knocking? It would be Bl00dy Awesome!

it's always been wide open and no, bill has no regrets whatsoever. more power to him for getting out and staying out.

I hear that, but damn, they pulled in a lot of cash on the tours he missed. I wonder what (if anything) he still earns royalties off of?

Delicate thread - would Bill and MT add or cover up playing deficincies by current memebers ? is that being cynical?. Don't be without doubt it will be MJ who determines who's in / out, and when, if ever there is live gig's.

I must say that after watching - listening to recordings with Bill in the mix what an absolute underated , member he was. If you listen to Bill, especially on the ARCHIVE releases where you can actually hear him,, You can't help thinking he was at the top of his game. 'NO FRILLS - JUST BILL'S'.

He wasn't at the May one. He was at the one in London in December.
