I like Animals too. All really good and stand on their own IMO.

DSOTM, WYWH and Animals are the perfect trilogy. Animals might even be my favorite. I never really got into The Wall. The concept is there, but Roger forgot to write any decent music to go with it. Musically, The Wall's best moments were provided by Gilmour, and there aren't enough of them.

Well said tatters and I couldn't agree with you more! Roger did make up for the lack of great Wall music by providing a fantastic theatrical accompaniment. Better than was done for any of the trilogy of fantastic music that we agree about.
As far as the Spinner interview goes, a bit like sitting down to dinner with a box of Froot Loops. It kinda tastes good but lacks substance. peace

my favorite floyd lp for sure - a masterpiece - and the guy on the cover was REALLY set on fire in the pre-photoshop world that was 1975

Remember the LP cover has been wrapped originally in some black plastic sheet...
Just a gimmick or has it been for some other reason ?

I always thought it was some artistic statement about blackness or the sense of absence - FYI, I met the two cover models once at the same site at Warner Bros. backlot in Burbank - we re-shot the pair for a piece I was writing - I'll have to try and dig it up
