Is it really just that impossible to have a simple happy 4th of July thread without every hater crawling out from under their rock and starting a pissing contest? Reason number 2 Million why Rocks Off is a much better site than IORR. We had a very simple pleasant 4th of July thread on there without any of this bullshit.

If you like it over there so much, why do you need to be posting here?

Hey StonesTod, I'm always sober except when I'm drunk.

Anyone who think they are betrter than others have read too few books and been too little around the world. Fact is we are all working hard to make life better for those who are close to us. Please do not use IORR to make hate or "we are better than you" sort of posts. In my eyes a good person is someone who say good things. If there is a thread about celebration and happyness, why on earth would yopu spend time saying that celebration and those people are not good? Such a post would say a lot about you and your tiolerance, very simple. Please remember: If you do not have anything nice to9 say, please do not say it. Thank you.

When I was seven or eight and first heard the Stones I thought of them as the American band, as opposed to the British Beatles. Sure there was something English about that haunting riff, The Last Time, but they were Americans.

I think many Europeans have a short memory and lack of understanding "new" countries, just not the US. The anger shown in this harmless 4th of July thread is just embarrassing. Get over it fellow European iorrians.

Wow, I missed this petty little bitch fight. I've been busy the last few days celebrating the birth of my country, beering, boating, barbequing, baseballing and so on. I heartily recommend it.

americans are the worst...the worst, jerry...

That's a personal opinion and not a logical conclusion. So it's of extremely limited value.

but it IS of some use, right? i hear you, brother....

It certainly is, but see my remark in the context of the discussion and the logic involved. In that context it seems useless to me, if I'm allowed to say that. But maybe you can reason a bit and convince me of the logic of your statement.

And here I thought electing Obama as President was going to make the world love us. Heck, he even got the Nobel Peace Prize two weeks after taking office!

Is there anyway to end a thread you started, or does it just go on and on and on....? Thanks for all the kind words from many of you, but I'd like to just say Happy frickin 4th of July folks. The end.

Kleermaker, I think maybe you should just take Stonestod out for a nice dinner...just avoid him only ordering the soup.

that facility is not available to iorr newbies. after your first year in good standing, you get to end your own threads. and for your three-year anniversary gift you the get the choice of ending others' threads or set of lovely dinner knives.

I'm all about evolving in that way. I'll tip my cup to you today His Majesty, we certainly share some common musical tastes and notions. Some of my closest friend are British. They seem to gravitate towards the music industry and bring alot to the table as far as I'm concerned. Besides, however trivial, I love to listen to them talk. English, New Zealand and Australian accents rock! peace
