He was brilliant in A Face In The Crowd. RIP.
One of my Top Ten Movies. And don't forget No Time For Sergeants. Andy's public persona did not tolerate hatred. Let's not use the passing an individual who gave the world a lot of warmth, to air political differences or call each other names.

Truly a brilliant show. If you think it is simply a rural "hickcome" as they were called back in the late 60's, you're missing a wonderful show. Someone earlier called it timeless - very true.

I am sure Aint Bea is waiting for him with a jar of pickles! That show was pure magic.

Who cares which prez gave Andy Griffith the Medal of Freedom. It was well deserved. Period. End of discussion.
Having grown up in Chapel Hill and being an alumnus of UNC, Andy has a special place in my heart. My dad met him several times at alumni get-togethers and always said what a stan-up guy he was.
Once I got my drivers licence, we would often drive down to Siler City, about an hour drive, on Halloween. Aunt Bea lived there during her retired years. We'd park down the street and go knock on her door. She never came to the door but her maid was always gracious, handing out copious amounts of candy! Aunt Bea was quite reclusive, unfortunately. JNever did get to meet her.
Met Ron Howard (Opie) once in Chapel Hill. Great guy, as well.
Anyway, ramblings aside, Andy Griffith, aka Sheriff Taylor, will be missed. R.I.P. and God bless.

Miss Ellie Walker (ala Elinor Donahue), the cute and perky "druggist" from season one is still alive. They shoulda kept her- much much hotter than perrennial drag Helen Crump.
