I think this is not a well thought out move by Jo Wood. Does she REALLY need the money (however much this book will generate for her) ? One has to imagine that it's for the money principally that she's doing it, I mean what the hell other motivation is there ? Certainly not that it'll better her relationship with her ex-husband, I hardly think that a "kiss n' tell" is what's needed in order to improve a friendship or relationship with an EX ? Also, what exactly has she got to offer ? A bunch of "stories" ? Well f**k, we've all got stories. I might as well publish mine in that case, they'll hold about as much interest to the average reader as any of hers are likely to. I just can't help but feel that some folk don't quite know when to consign something to the history books, and also recognise that not all history is necessarily interesting !!
Why would she care about bettering her relationship with her ex? I wouldn't buy the book, but I definitely see the motivation on her end. Alsom interesting you should say that she should consign events to the 'history books', when in fact that is what she is contributing to.

Not sure if I would. How about a story for us in any case paulywaul? I do love stories. peace

I've decided to resist the temptation of publishing my memoirs in a "kiss n' tell" extravaganza, and possibly making about 50 pence out of it.
So sorry people, no stories !!

<<< Why would she care about bettering her relationship with her ex ? >>>
Because they have kids together, and because one tends to rest easier I would think, when one has a better - rather than worse - relationship with an EX ? But maybe she doesn't give a toss about that, maybe she rests easy enough as it is ?
As for contributing to history ? Well, however one might wish to differentiate band history from (a) sour grapes (b) low value tittle tattle (c) general shit stirring, I only hope that that the revelations in her book are genuinely insightful and interestingly contributory to band history, rather than largely being one or all of a, b, and c.
Just my take on it, thass'all !!

I have no opinion on it, other than the whole 'women scorned' thing will eventually get you, especially when served up with 'revenge a dish best served cold'.
Ronnie did a bit of an evisceration job on her, and while I wouldn't cheer her on, I completely understand the motivation.
And from the part I've bolded, I see that you have in fact, read LIFE.

Exactly...so we should have expected a bit more from him. As far as Jo Wood is concerned, I doubt she'll go as low as KR did, but we'll have that to ponder over soon won't we?Quote

I have to confess that I started (but did not finish - got distracted) reading LIFE, and I take your point. BUT one very minor differentiating factor is surely that Mr K Richards is IN the band and co-wrote one or two songs here n' there over the years, and Ms Jo Wood ... ?? Now please remind me once again precisely what her pivotal role in the Rolling Stones 50 year story was, apart from partly ensuring that RW kept his s**t together in a fashion ??

I vote we have one person on the board read it, I vote StonedStreetKidsRuleInLondon, and that person relay to us the gory details in a new, make that several new threads, and then we can sit and argue over it like we always do.
It would be an efficient use of time, doncha think?!
