I don't think you're that far from the truth. If Brian had been alive and shared his thoughts about the sessions of BB I don't think he would anything nice to say.

Everybody knew it had to come to an end. It's often implied that Brian was too wasted to be aware of that. But that's horseshit. However, there were times when they seem to have enjoyed playing together. Mick has said that he has got some nice memories of Brian during the sessions for No Expectations and Brian and Keith can also be heard laughing at the start of an outtake of the song.

Who killed Davey Moore? Why and what's the reason for?

When it comes to Brian it's Brian that killed Brian just as was the case with Janis Jimi Amy and Jim....too much junkie business as Thunders put it.....

I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield...

On that outtake of No Expectations, Brian isn't laughing, he's explaining how something he played didn't go right. It might be Keith and Stu who are laughing: "Alright, I didn't do a good one, Stu. I wanted it to finish somewhere... Okay? Alright, help me out."

To me the guy who's talking in the beginning sounds like Mick. The laugh right in the beginning fits Brian's voice better IMHO. But I might be wrong of course. confused smiley

It was of far better quality than the one I have. But I have to say that the guy who says "Alright, I didn't do a good one, Stu." still sound like Mick to me.

Been listening to it over and over a few times. I haven't heard Brian talking that much to say I am sure that it's not him. But I'm puzzled about this one.
At least the choice of words would fit Brian better than Mick.

Yes, or it could be Mick doing a Brian impression the way he does a Keith impression at the beginning of Rocks Off. But I still think it's Brian, for the reason of the mistake they are discussing: the ending of the song, where there are no vocals, but rather the guitar and piano playing the outro and this would mean Brian and Stu. I wonder how it strikes other listeners.

Brian is laughing, you hear him first, as is Bill. The voice doing the talking is Keith.

The last line is "alright up there?" as in are they(Miller etc) ready to proceed in the control room after the flubbed take.

Cool outtake.

No question here ... Brian giggling, Mick's apology ( Stu? I thought it would Nicky ),
"Ready?" Brian, "Nnn Hmmm".

On the anniversary of his passing, as we near the hour of the event, or having already passed it, depending on whose version of events you would choose to believe, I would just like to add one more comment to this thread. A few years back I was posting on a similar forum dedicated to Stones fans, but to Brian Jones fans in particular, called Like A Rolling Stone, and there was a lively discussion as to what sort of person Brian was, particularly concerning his notorious violence toward women. It was opined by such posters as myself that he couldn't have been all that bad, as even women he may have been abusive toward still held a fond remembrance of him.

One such woman is Pat Andrews, who in the video doc that starts this thread, after all the years have gone by, ultimately looks the best--better than Anna Wohlin, Anita, or Marianne. She has held up well and has a certain English charm that makes her attractive above all the rest. If only Brian had chosen her as his life partner instead of chasing after Anita P., not only would he not have become alienated from the Stones, but he might well still be alive today.

Another such woman is Dawn Molloy. On this above-mentioned forum, LARS--and Doxa from this forum may well remember as he was a regular poster on LARS--at one point in mid-2008 there was a new member on the forum, one who claimed to have known Brian from way back. A few days of discussion and mystery led some of the posters to finally reveal her name. One of the female posters guessed--'Are you Dawn Molloy?' 'Yes, I'm Dawn Molloy,' the new poster revealed.

There was not much time for further discussion--a short while later, the entire site crashed, or was crashed, never to return. But it brought us all, for that moment, a little closer to the object of our fandom in having been visited by one who actually knew him.

He has been gone for so long now, and he will be dead for such a long time. For Brian's sake, let's not judge him too harshly.

Who killed Cock Robin?
I, said the Sparrow,
with my bow and arrow,
I killed Cock Robin.

Who saw him die?
I, said the Fly,
with my little eye,
I saw him die.

I knew it had to be Brian laughing! That somewhat raspy voice can't belong to anybody else.

So it's Keith who does the talking? Makes perfect sense. The only reason I've never thought of him was that the voice sounded too "clear" to be Keith. grinning smiley

Although he was a bit of a mumbler in early years up to and including 1964, Keith spoke quite clearly until circa 1973 or so... Then the Junkie voice came in.

I've read so much about the drama surrounding Brian's death,
it's become kinda murky how it affected the survivors. Mixed
emotions, I'm sure. On one hand, relief. "No more of that."
On the other, caution. "We'd better see the example for what
it is and heed it." It took a few more years of maturing,
but I think ultimately the guys understand the eye of the
storm better now than then.

Time softens the edges. Let the good times not be overshadowed by the bad.

Maybe OT but found some pics of Anita during Hyde Park 1969

Anita Hyde Park

The pics of her with striped clothing aren't from backstage at Hyde Park.

Where are they from then? Whenever I bought them, the seller told me that is what they were from. The guy she is with is the same guy who is sitting on stage near her during Hyde Park concert, and he's wearing same outfit.

Backstage at Hyde Park consisted of a few caravans, that don't look like they are inside a caravan to me.

Maybe they are from somewhere else before they went to Hyde Park!?

In that 25x5 clip does Keith actually say he and Mick told Brian "Hey c o c k, you're fired!" ?? Is that some English expression or is he picking this up from the great influences of New York? Too much! peace

Yes, "cock" is Cockney London slang, meaning "mate" or "chum".

Ray Davies explains it to a non-UK audience from his Storyteller show:

RD: Larry [Page, one of their managers] always referred to me as 'cock'. No, no. Cock is a London expression for mate, chum. 'Ello cock! 'Ow are you, cock? How's your cock, cock? Awright?

Cock and cocker are also used in Cornwall - "Alright my cock?". It can raise a few eyebrows!

Not exactly. The hooped shirts--the spaghetti ring style--was what Brian wore a lot in the mid-60s and Keith wears a shirt that's very similar in the "Keith Richards and Patti Hansen to meet children and grandchildren for Vogue (Photos)" thread. Brian and Anita often wore interchangeable styles when they were together, but if anything, Keith is emulating Brian's fashion sense (right down to the "elegantly wasted" aura that he wore for so long).
