Did we ever suss out if Brian's the other acoustic on Fence? Is that all Keith?

Such info, atleast the undisputed kind just ain't available. Aftermath is quite tricky for credits, especially for Brian's contributions on guitar.

I can't listen just now, but which has fuzz bass again? It's not Easy, and?

Being a teenager in the 90's, anytime I mentioned the album "Aftermath", people thought I was talking about the Dr. Dre album...



Even though the title is technically "Dr. Dre Presents...The Aftermath", it was simply known as "Aftermath" to the kids back then. This led to some confusion when Paint It Black would start up (only had the U.S. version back then) instead of Aftermath (The Intro).

That first photo you posted could be them doing Fence (or a few others, actually).
Was Fence in the first round of sessions?

Seems it was from the December sessions.

The header photo is most likley from the March sessions, but it might even be from the August BtB's sessions. Post 1966 US tour hence Hawaii Uni t-shirt!?

It's hard to get definite, solid info on pics and the March and August RCA sessions are so close together which makes it hard to ID pics for sure.

No bass on Out of Time? I have always thought that Sittin' On A Fence might be another Back Street Girl situation, where they called in a ringer to play a complex part. I swear I'm hearing a zither or some other exotic instrument and that it's not just plain old acoustic guitar. There are definitely two guitars/whatever interplaying. Very Russian sounding. Balalaika?

Nah, it's just 2 acoustics, one playing the repeated lead line, the other the more chordal work.

Yeah, there's bass on Out of Time. Was it not in the post before? During the intro and verses it's organ bass pedals.

Ride On Baby has to be Brian on autoharp. I just can't see Keith futzing with it.
A friend of mine swears Brian plays a Rick 12 on this, doing that noodling that goes on.

That's the thing, this is the time they all started trying out different instruments. Going by the many sites out there, most just assume anything unusual is Brian, but things weren't that straight forward.

I can't find any info from the band themselves etc, but I think I recall something about Keith playing autoharp at a session being mentioned by ALO or someone in a article from the time. Keith certainly had a autoharp at home and they are easy to play. But still, it might be Brian or someone else.

Another Fuzz bass song is "Flight 505"

I also think that there's marimbas in "What to Do", although low in the mix. I can hear them at the 'Na Na Nothing' part. At least it sounds to me like marimbas. But I could (and probably am) wrong LOL
