the "real Stones era".

That officially ended on 8th June 1969.

In their entire released body of work there is no greater offense than "Too Much Blood."

Hey hold it! I love it. Part of the "real Stones era". The worst song has to be from 1989-2012. My choice: Rock and a hard place. FOllowed by Highwire.

Lots of folks in this forum do not like Rock and a Hard Place. I like the song and understand why others don't. But you have to admit this song is played with conviction. the lyric "Fields of freedom are filled with trash" hits home with me.

you should take the garbage out more often

I don't see any love for "My Girl." I like this version and it fits nicely on Flowers. It accents the feel of the album. I read where Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl is the most played song on radio in history. I would expect that My Girl (Temps) is up there as well.

tie me kangaroo down sport is prolly up there down there

What's your opinion of "Flowers" in general?

Their worst song is Back to Zero, Their worst song that most people like on this site is Time Waits for No one.

we have a beautiful wildflower season here in central texas.

as to the stones record, i like the ultra-cheesey album cover alot. and some of the songs are okay. it's just a hodge-podge of leftover tracks from uk records that didn't get put on the cheap-o 12-track us album versions, of course. as to "my girl" - i'll take the tempts or even mamas/papas versions over the stones' anyday. jagger just doesn't have the pipes for stuff like that....

Central Texas is in for lots of rain later this week ( I know because we're gettin hammered in Fl). Flowers is a hodge-podge indeed. A damn good one at that. Three songs on the cd that should be played live - Ride on Baby, Sittin on a Fence, and the beloved MLH.

Streets of Love.

When i first heard this song I literally vomited.

and what about the second time?

There was no second time smileys with beer

That one is hard to beat, no second time, but my response was to be 'he figuratively vomited'.

It's partially the way Jagger grunt-screams the words. The bridge is fantastic, the rest of it blows.

Had he been in an unfortunate accident, it's also possible for him to have disfiguratively vomited.

Why all this hate on Back To Zero ? In my opinion it is the second best track on Dirty Work after One Hit To The Body.

It shouldn't be included in a concert setlist - but shouldn't be labeled a "bad song" either. That's all I'm saying.

Ha. I never labeled it a "bad song", just one of their worst! Big difference!

Had he of had several applications and uses for any additional playings/listenings of the said awful bad track he would have configuratively vomited.

Well if you have to "call in sick" to work then it is a very disturbing song that causes health risks!smileys with beer

If we can agree that it shouldn't be included on an album as well, I think we'll all be in agreement...or something.

The worst one from the Brain Jones era is to my taste;

--SALT OF THE EARTH

From the 70's the absolute worst one is

--MEMORY MOTEL

And from the last decade the worst is

--THIS PLACE IS EMPTY

True but the Rolling Stones continued to exist up until 1986. Dirty Work is horrible but it's not comeback, it's the last stop.

I have 1 (one) Stones-original ranked 1/5 and that's Back To Zero !

Gomper is 4/5 on my list...beautiful singing from Jagger on that one....

I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield...

Rock and a Hard place could have been a decent song if it wasn't so sterile.

I have always hated Lies.

At least we have a counter-point to SOL and that's Out of Tears, which I think is a really good song.

The unreleased Drift Away is really and truly horrible.

Lies-Rock and a Hard Place-Drift away - the unholy for trinity torturing hostage takers during hostage crises with the songs blaring out of loudspeakers.

Short and Curlies is just stupid "we are bg enough to do stupid stuff" bullsheeet.

If You Can't Rock Me symbolizes the beginning of the creative weakness with lack of any redeeming melodic touches in rock and roll songs. The song sucks.

Awesome band just the same! lol

There's almost no Stones song I can't find some pleasure in but - even though they didn't write it - I haven't been able to stomach Cherry Oh Baby at all.

I concede that it's one of those strange songs that sounds pretty good live, much more interesting indeed. But on record I think it sucks. One of the world's mysteries!
