This is beyond ridiculous. It was okay to release it in 1970, but it's not okay to re-release it now? That would be like pulling all copies of Gimme Shelter out of circulation now because after 42 years they've decided that it's too unpleasant.

The Beatles preached love but in the end had little for one another. They started their careers spending too much time together then split for solo careers. The sons are doing it just the opposite. They are getting the solo stuff out of their systems first before coming together.

I'm probably over estimating the intelligence of the average Beatles fan, but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would care what the sons of Beatles decide to do with their lives.

Any promoter (worth a grain of salt) should care.

Any promoter that gets mixed up in a sons of Beatles tour is going to lose his shirt. Being a relative of a famous and talented person is not enough. Just ask Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie, and Tito. Who? Exactly.

Every situation is different. Some make it, some don't. Ever heard of Payton and Eli Manning?

You're always making these comparisons to sports and music, but athletic talent and musical talent are really nothing alike. Most people, with greater or lesser degrees of skill, can throw a ball. A baby can pick up a ball and throw it, but most people cannot write a song or play an instrument to save their lives.

tatters, nothing you or I say or do is going to stop the sons of the Beatles from coming together. They are all talented and one day they will pool their talents and carry on in the tradition of their fathers. It is just a matter of time. I am looking forward to it. Just hope I live long enough to see it. As I have said, sometimes it works for famous offspring, sometimes it doesn't. In their case it is going to work to the tune of millions and millions of dollars. The promoters look at this a lot different then you and others do. Time will prove me right as it most often does. No Brag, Just Fact.

A Sons of the Beatles project...
So, are all of the sons allowed to be in this? Or one son per Beatle? Who gets to play John? Sean or Julian? Would the son take on the musical role of their dad? ie, Don't DARE touch that bass, Dhani.

Ridiculous.

Why does it have to be "sons of the beatles"? Why can't their daughters be included? After all, they came from the same ball sack so therefore they automatically have the same musical talent as their fathers, right? Right, stonescrow?

It's one thing if the sons of the Beatles got together and played some music. But what blows my mind is the fact that thewatchman/stonescrow/MightyStonesStillRollin50/whateveryou'llcallyourself2monthsfromnow thinks that if they did get together that it would be the greatest thing ever and they would produce some music on the same level as The Beatles based ONLY on the fact that they are their offspring and that Beatlemania would be revived and they'll be on top of the world just like their fathers. AND, as evidence that this scheme can work, he uses father/son football players as evidence? Wow.

Dear Gumboot, Ineedadrink, mitch, and all the many others: Playing a guitar and writing some rock 'n' roll songs isn't rocket science. I mean, just about every guitar player on IORR can play better than Keith Richards, right?

myself and mitchflorida are two different people. How you even began to assume I am mitchflorida is beyond me. Paranoid much?

Just because someone can play guitar and write a rock and roll song doesn't mean they can recreate Beatlemania.

I can suspect you are a number of people on this forum for the same reasons you assume I am stonescrow and thewatchman. Many voices sound alike on this forum. You and many others sound like the same voice to me. Being suspicious and being paranoid are two different things.

James, Sean, Dhani, and Ringo's youngest son are not just any old Tom, Dick, and Harry. They are the sons of the Beatles. And are all talented musicians. They even look like their fathers. It's a promoters dream.

You suspect that I'm mitchflorida? Right, because I'm spewing right wing bullshit all the time. I just puked in my mouth a little bit, actually.
I think you're just embarrassed because you started a giant goodbye thread and now you're back and you don't want to admit that you can't stay away from this place. A little advice, if you're going to come back with a new name, try not to act and post the exact same nonsense (how many people on here over the years have compared sons of beatles to football players???) and then deny that you're that person. We're not stupid. At least I have the balls to admit that I've used various names, this one, ineedadrink, bernardshakey, izzy anderson.

But please, carry on with your stonescrowesque ramblings. They sure are entertaining! smileys with beer

James McCartney? I think he has some talent, but he's got something wrong with him. H is incapable of smiling. There is something major that bothers him. I wish I could put my finger on it. He was on Letterman and he seemed to not care less. No emotion at all. It's like he's incapable of showing emotion. I don't think growing up the son of Paul McCartney was all that great. I can't see this band doing that great unless they were able to write incredible songs. But that's not going to happen. They are decent, but not near the masterpieces of John, Paul, or George. Unless they have something great hidden away. Who knows...I want to see a picture of them all together as a group. That would be neat to see. I would rather see that than hear the music. Face it, there will never be another Beatles. You might as well take four plumbers and have them post together for a picture, that would be just as cool. lol

You might as well take four plumbers and have them post together for a picture, that would be just as cool. lol

Yeah, he is a little shy, but I think he will overcome that in time.

I think they have great potential and would love to see them tap into that potential as a unit. If they were just half as good as their fathers they would slay the world.

Did the Herman's Hermits have any sons? I mean, why stop with The Beatles? It could be a whole "sons of the British Invasion". Talk about "slaying the world", this would do it. The world needs another big wave of magic from the U.K. - just like 1964! So bring on the Sons of Peter & Gordon, the Sons of Gerry & The Pacemakers, and the Sons of The Dave Clark Five. I'm ready!

Does Ed Sullivan have a son? What about Murray The K?

I love the concept, but there is still a lot of work ahead to get the sons of the Beatles together. I would love to see them do something in 2014 for the 50th anniversary of the Beatles coming to America, but that may be rushing things a bit. I see something happening within the next five years but maybe not as early as 2014, although the sooner the better.

As this exchange clearly shows, it was you who brought the sons of the Beatles into the discussion. I never said a word about them.
