The Chess Sessions

It would be great if ABKCO would remaster and release the complete Chess Sessions. Down In The Bottom features one of Brian's best ever studio performances on slide guitar. It's fine as a bootleg, but apart from fan sites like this, most people take no notice of bootlegs.

SIDE A
1. It's All Over Now*
2. I Can't Be Satisfied*
3. Stewed and Keefed*
4. Time Is On My Side (version 1)*
5. Good Times, Bad Times**

7. Around And Around**
8. 2120 South Michigan Avenue (version 1)**

10.Down In The Bottom**
11.Reelin' And Rockin'**

17.If You Need Me**
18.Tell Me, Baby (How Many Times)**

Agreed. Perhaps it should be a double CD then. My track list comes from a boot by Sister Morphine 'Records' in Auckland, New Zealand.

The version on this boot of That's How Strong My Love Is has the bass turned way up, and the melodic boom of Wyman's bass is truly inspiring. That's how strong Bill's bass is!

Anyone know the exact number of total tracks they recorded at Chess?

P.S.: I could post the file of That's How Strong from this boot from my iTunes, if I knew how. Any instructions would be welcome. Thanx!

This was also recorded that year, and should be released with the same album.
Ian Stewart's piano is prominent on this track.

Mentioning Mr. Berry is never unnecessary!

The Chess Sessions would be a lovely contribution from ABKCO to the 50th Anniversary releases. If we can't get any Brian-era live shows in the bootleg series, this is in much better quality than any live concert recording we know of from that time. The other great pipe dream from the early 60s would be the BBC live sessions - but I don't know if the Beeb would want to release these - they're still using them. Once in a while the young Stones pop up on a radio show: live from 1964 among all the new 2012 releases, and they sound right at home there.

Yeah, Diddley Daddy is from the very early '63 IBC session where they did "Roadrunner", "Bright Lights Big City", "Honey Whats Wrong" and "I Want To Be Loved".

Still - those early sessions of unreleased material incl. "Goodbye Girl", "Key To the Highway", "Andrews Blues", "Poison Ivy 1", "In The Bottom", "Hi Healed Sneakers", "Reelin & Rockin", "Tell Me Baby How Many Times", should be put out in "official" quality. I used to think we already had all this stuff in pristine audio, but since hearing these official boots I stand corrected.

I think the list above is nearly complete, but it misses the version 1 of "Mercy, Mercy" which I prefer to the official one. So it sums 27 titles up. Never saw more on any boot, but it is possible that there are some more outtakes in the archives we don't know at all.

Yes. The BBC have a vast archive of live sessions from all sorts of artists, dating back to the 60s at least, and most 6 Music shows play one or two of them. So once in a while it turns out to be a Stones song from Saturday Club or whatever.

Are they playing more of them lately, pike bishop? I've heard one or two.. And do you have more details about the "Big Tribute for 50th?"

Thanks, Deltics! I downloaded a file from hotfile.com, but it's in RAR file format. I'm not very computer savvy. Could you tell me how I could get this into iTunes or at least onto a blank CD? Thanks!
