I did notice that Cliff, Elton and, not as much, but Paul McCartneys voices seemed a little shot. Tom Jones was great and so was Shirly Bassy. After seeing Mick singng this year I think he would have stole the Show!

As for Paul singing Oh Bla di, well, everyone moans at him and The Stones for doing the same old numbers so why not, i think is was OK. The whole concert to me was a little flat but i enjoyed it all the same, i thought Stevie wonder was good but have to admit to doing a little channel skipping during Kyle's set.

Really proud to be British, what a weekend of Pomp, only The Brits can do it as well as this.

God save the Queen!

Macca is closing the opening ceremony of the Olympics now (God I was hoping to skip this but now I'll have to watch).

Please Paul, NOT Ob Bla Di as a finisher.

It's got to be a rocker not a knees up.

Watched it so so , should of had the Pistols doing "God Save the Queen"
that would of been a fitting Finale.
and the biggest loss, a gig in London and no Ronnie ?.

That was terrible; I didn't know about any of this until I saw the postings here. McCartney's voice..I think the drummer might be covering for him in places. During MMT someone was doing the hi voice with the rough growl that Paul used to do but I am pretty sure it was not Paul doing it live.
Tom Jones is clearly the best old act around.

ALL these shows now are becoming more and more a vehicle for very old gentlemen to relive past glories. It is time for a real generation change.

I don't think Pauls voice was that bad.

It's no worse than some of "Wings Over America" and that was 30 odd years ago.

It's his usual hoarse concert voice.

I think the crap live mix from the BBC didn't help.

Why does he refuse to drop the keys a bit and he'd cut it much better.

SURPRISING that the Rolling Stones weren’t on the bill at Monday’s Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace, despite Sir Paul McCartney and the rest of the British music industry’s grandees agreeing to perform. A spokesman for the band informs me: ‘Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones were invited repeatedly by Gary Barlow but were not available.’

Nothing new there, chelskeith. The Stones have managed to avoid almost every big event outside their ordinary touring schedule since anno dazumal. I guess they were to busy this time around also...

Because on most days he still CAN cut it.

He's pretty amazing for a 68 year old.

Yeah I saw the plane footage earlier today.

I love those old planes.

I saw the Lancaster flying the week before at Duxford Air Show.

I'm glad Prince Harry didn't wear his nazi uniform on this occasion. It wouldn't have been suitable, would it?

You'd think Macca would have played "Her Majesty" from the Abbey Road album. Maybe he didn't have a bellyful of wine. smiling smiley

I think he might of at the Golden Jubilee in 2002

Indeed he did.

As for Elton John...??? What happened to his voice? Was he drunk? He didn't look at all well.
