Clint Eastwood, Joe Namath, And The Rolling Stones
Date: May 31, 2012 06:37

Clint Eastwood will be 82 in about four hours. He's in Carmel on the west coast of the United States. Joe Namath will be 69 in about an hour. I think he now lives in Florida. Happy Birthday to two American Icons.

In 1962 I believe Clint was still playing Rowdy Yates in the popular TV show Rawhide. Joe Namath was probably a sophomore at the University of Alabama. The Rolling Stones were just being formed. In the fall Clint is scheduled to return to the "big screen" for what could very well be the final time. Namath is still strutting around like a rooster (despite two knee replacements). And Mick? Well, no one moves like Jagger! Great to see these old geezers still alive and kicking up some dust.

Classic Broadway Joe. In the 60's this would have been viewed much differently. Reminded me of Dean Martin.

Sometimes I feel like I have created my own fantasy world. To think that so many of my favorite entertainers and characters are still around a half century later and still so vibrant just blows my mind. I am a huge fan of Eastwood, Namath, Don Cherry, Don Rickles, Pat O' Day, The Sonics, Jack Nicklaus, and of course our beloved Rolling Stones.

Sure the sun is setting, but what a glorious sunset it is. I feel so blessed.

Wish was great. But don't forget Gil Favor. Eric Fleming died way too young.
Sheb Wolley was in it, too.
And Wish's sidekick Mushy (who has a bit part in Godfather II).

Of course so many have passed away. Johnny Cash, Dean Martin, Don Knotts, Johnny Carson, Frank Sinatra, etc., etc., etc., etc..

Perfect Jets spokesman. The JETS icon stewed like a can of tomatoes on national TV struggulguglggguglugluglinnnnnng.... I wanna kiss you... and I always thought Namath had a hard time walking because of bad knees. I guess 8 hours of boozing can cause the leglessness he suffers from. What an idiot.

To my taste Clint E. would be the perfect choice for shooting a film about Rolling Stones . Scorsese is the perfect documentary maker, but he reflection of feelings and experiences...leave it to Clint E.

(just a mere opinion...)

I think Clint has been a better director than an actor, not to disparage his acting at all. He has made some very thoughtful films on a variety of subjects.

I always thought Eastwood and The Stones had a lot of similarities. They have both survived for decades and have done so at a high performance level. Just like The Stones have done just about every kind of music over the years, Eastwood has done just about every kind of movie from westerns to comedies to dramas etc. etc.

Jerry Hall said on DAVID LETTERMAN, "Mick Jagger is the thinking man's Clint Eastwood."

Last night I caught some of the new reality show MRS. EASTWOOD & COMPANY (that follows Clint's wife and teen daughters—and, occasionally, Clint—around) and it was adorable how much in love Clint's beautiful 15-year-old daughter, Morgan, is with her dad.
