Great Goals by Mario Gomez last evening, particular the first one was world class! Gomez is a great player, a smart and intelligent guy, but the Germans (I´m german) are never satisfied, still critizing him, complaining about his "old school play", which is IMO completely bollocks ....
I´m pretty sure in other countries Gomez would be a indefeasible hero, but not over here ... can´t understand this!
I´m curious: What do other nations think about Gomez?

Seems like the Irish gameplan was to give up beforehand and play with eleven defenders. Do they need Trappatoni for that? The only team that can defend themselves to victory are the Italians. Looks like Trappatoni thought he could make an Italy out of Ireland...

We had a national debate today in Poland. Dozens of people talking whole day in radio and TV. The question was: which goalkeeper should play against Czech Republic. Players already know what the decision is but it is a top secret until the lineups are revealed. Whoever was chosen there will be additional pressure on him.

Hail to the nation that has its national goalkeeper as the most important topic.
