Re: OT: Euro 2012

I did not like the way Ronaldo was deliberately looking for free kicks. And neither
did I like the lack of nerve on Spanish side to try to cut through the Portugese defense.
So in the end, I have to ask the question why I remained in my seat for almost three hours?
Well, I guess because of the suspense. But none of the teams I saw last night was a team
to deserve the championship.

Both Germany and Italy are playing more attractive football this time than Spain and
Portugal. Tonight might be the "final". I wish both teams good luck. I trust both teams
tonight will be trying to score.

I want to get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

One can't expect "party football" when a place in the final is at stake. I thought it was a match with nerve, and it could have tipped both ways.

I'm glad to see Spain in the finals, just as I predicted smileys with beer

In football, What is the meaning of brave, courageous, valiant, in summary...what is the definition of having a pair of balls...?

Sergio Ramos explains it. First video....failed with a loud crash few weeks ago (Champions League) . Second video...being able to shoot panenka style in a semifinals....

Cold blood. Nerve. Courage.

He shut the mouth yesterday to all people who laughed at him (including me....grinning smiley)

Sorry guys, my internet is down at home so couldn't log on last night.

Thought the match was pretty boring. Spain have such great players but are in danger of becoming the new Italy if they always play their tika taka style. It seems they are scared to take chances by always hanging on to the ball and passing it around endlessly.

With the quality they have they should attack more. Many of their their big tournament games are won 1-0 and I can see them winning this tournament by playing in the same style.

Let's hope for an open match tonight.

Italy is gonna tighten up their defense, and go for counter attacks. Germany will keep ramming against the defense wall. My guess is that eventually they will break through.

You could be right. But I am somewhat impressed by the way Pirlo is able to manage the
Italian team. Against England the Italians showed they can also come up with creative
attacks.
I think the Germans too will have to use a lot of energy to defend their goal tonight.

It will be a tough game, both teams are good, but the Italians have very strong nerves, this is an advantage. Gigi Buffon is an admireable sportsman.

IMO, they have always had good enough players to do that, but in championships they have a tradition of focusing on the results first, and not so much on the entertaining part of the game.

Let's see tonight, though. In another pool at work, I'll win some money if the Italians go through. In the IORR-pool I have Germany in the final against Spain - so I'm a bit ambivalent here smiling smiley

Awful memories for us frenchies, we should have won that match, and Shumacher should have been warned . A huge mistake from the referee which should allow video replay . 30 years later...we are still waitin' for the video replay confused smiley

This evening, mission impossile for my Italy but Please, Sister Germany, turn my nightmares into dreams.
Sici

Both teams have 50% chance to win.

I've enjoyed Germany's play against Holland: it seemed they didn't give 100% but that was also not needed and still they played very well.

I've enjoyed Italy too. The match against England was very entertaining though no goals. But that Pirlo guy was a joy to see play. And of course his pirlenka.
Both teams are really teams, and that is also important and nice to see.

So I expect an entertaining match tonight and I'm totally neutral, though I would like to see a final Spain-Germany.

The score, before the second semi-final:

Mike Silver isn't talking too much, but he's still leading from the start!
Maybe Sici will get some points tonight if he had trust in his team before the tournament started. Dandy is doing very well as a neutral participant.

Oops, a wrong panenka does look funny! You can't do a panenka if you don't look at the goalkeeper and/or haven't seen him 'go'.

i haven't been talking too much because I've been on holiday and also my bloody phone line is down at home. Hopefully being fixed this afternoon. I'm sure I will have a lot to say tonight. Please, not a boring match like last night.

I fell asleep on the sofa like an idiot watching spain-portugal. I woke up at 2am and i checked on the web who had won.
it was the worst match of the championship, games like that are nice if one of the 2 teams score at the beginning , if not..
let's see what's going on tonight, germany is strong but they are also too sure to win ; we italians we have nothing to lose if we win it is a great result, if we lose it has been a good championship anyway. we played a good football vs, spain and england, but there were no great expectation for italy this year

...not only Joe Hart exclusive...tongue sticking out smiley

I hope Germany will make the final against Spain.
It´s the youngest and most convincing team so far.
Although I was much surprised about how well Italy did in several matches...
Since 1980 when I was a kid this the first time I think they´ve deserved it.
What do I know...either the better or the team with more luck will go through.
If it´s Italy I wouldn´t mind.
But another match Spain-Italy...hm...I´m not that wild about,to be honest.

Another 0-0 match and penalties and I will boycott this tournament. Let's hope for some goals tonight and a winner within 90 minutes. Since Germany is a more positive team than Italy I will root for them. 2-0 Germany?

Balotelli!!! 0-2

Where's Germany's defence? It's becoming very difficult now, but it's not a done deal yet!

100 times more entertaining than yesterday's match. Worth a final.
