That was quickLet's do an update, then (June 20):
A totally new hierarchy! Great. I've only three quarter finalists predicted well. No matches to get points during the quarter finals and probably no new points at all.
Number 3 !!!!

Does the rank 2302 mean that Silver Dagger is number 2302 among all participants?

Worst team so far? Ireland! Sweden and Holland are sniffing around those quarters too, but to be as bad as Ireland you got to practise more...

Not offside for me, not according to the normal modern interpretation of the law (which I hate).
The player in the offside position was not involved in the interchange down the wing.
Lots of nonsense about "phases of play".
But he would not be given offside in most games (you do sometimes get an understandably confused official).
Actually he was involved. The player who was offside assisted to the goal scorer. He was able to take the ball and pass to the scorer because he was offside. He was offside, he touched the ball - free kick for the opponent, no disussion about it.

Very high quality tournament so far. Not many poor matches and almost all of the teams have looked competitive (ahem, Ireland). The Euros tend to be better than the World Cup.
Unfortunately money is the most important thing so in France we will have 24 teams. Quality won't be so high anymore. So far for me this is the best tournament since Euro 2000.

Szef, I read an article in a Dutch paper that the boss of all referees, Pierluigi Collina of the UEFA, has declared that it was a goal. He didn't say anything about offside at all.
The essence of Collina's quote: "It was a 100% goal, the ball had passed the line. It was a human fault, alas."

Probably he was just talking about goal situation. Offside was obvious, everyone can see it.

The 2008 tournament was pretty good too, bar the drab final. I suppose 24 teams mightn't be bad in terms of letting teams who don't often get a chance in these tournaments but if they really wanted to shake up the line-up it would make more sense to just not seed the qualifying draw so rigidly. So it's pretty obvious that this is for money. We all saw how abject Ireland were - who wants another 8 teams of that quality?
And how would 24 teams even work? Six groups of four? That doesn't work. Four groups of six? I don't get it.

No, he said the goal had to be counted. So obviously even the great Collina has overlooked the offside situation. Weird but true.

There will be 6 groups of 4 teams. Only fourth placed and two third placed teams with worst score will be eliminated. Other teams will qualify to the round of sixteen. I predict boring group stage.

euh...I didn't notice that France was helped by the referees...when was that ?
In the first game against England there was a special rule.
The rule was that no French player could be booked regardless of what he did (to Andy Carrol mostly).
Great point except for the fact that Andy Carroll was an unused substitute against France
yes right with the first part and I hope we will "recover" against Spain and show something good at last !Quote

Anyway.. France got away with murder... which may have included fouling Carrol on the bench.

This is Portugals match. The Czechs are doomed. My guess, 1-0 Portugal after a goal by Ronaldo.
