Very high quality tournament so far. Not many poor matches and almost all of the teams have looked competitive (ahem, Ireland). The Euros tend to be better than the World Cup.

I actually think Spain will be happier to ply France than England. France aren't as good as they are hyped up to be and are likely to attempt to play Spain at their own game - they've certainly tried to tika-taka their way through the group matches. That should play right into the hands of the Spanish. Expect them to dominate midfield and win by two or three goals. England would have been more sturdy opposition, solid defensively, capable and likely to park the bus.

Unfortunately money is the most important thing so in France we will have 24 teams. Quality won't be so high anymore. So far for me this is the best tournament since Euro 2000.

well, let's see things clearly
for the next games, I see :
- Czech Republic - Portugal : 0 - 1 (extra time)
- Germany - Greece : 2 - 0
- Spain - France : 8 - 1
- Italy - England : 1 - 1 (extra time then penalty entertainment with Italy winner)

this is the result from site-

My predictions for the quarter finals were:

Czech Rep - The Netherlands (will be Czech rep. - Portugal)
Germany - Russia (will be Germany - Greece)
Italy - France (will be Spain - France)
Sweden - Spain (will be England - Italy)

The good news is that I might still have three semi-finalists right.

Not offside for me, not according to the normal modern interpretation of the law (which I hate).

The player in the offside position was not involved in the interchange down the wing.

Lots of nonsense about "phases of play".

But he would not be given offside in most games (you do sometimes get an understandably confused official).

In the first game against England there was a special rule.

The rule was that no French player could be booked regardless of what he did (to Andy Carrol mostly).

Actually he was involved. The player who was offside assisted to the goal scorer. He was able to take the ball and pass to the scorer because he was offside. He was offside, he touched the ball - free kick for the opponent, no disussion about it.

Mmmmm, they better abolish the whole rule and install cameras on the goal line. Most problems solved.

Btw: I'll inform the Dutch TV football experts that they're totally nuts and aren't football experts at all.

A totally new hierarchy! Great. I've only three quarter finalists predicted well. No matches to get points during the quarter finals and probably no new points at all.

I guess they only focussed on the ball crossing the line. They forgot about what went on before
the Ukranians scored. I think it is an offside, allright.

Great point except for the fact that Andy Carroll was an unused substitute against France

Not sure about that. During the last pool for the Worldchampionship, you could still get points, even if you got the wrong teams. Don't know if this pool works the same way.

Worst team so far? Ireland! Sweden and Holland are sniffing around those quarters too, but to be as bad as Ireland you got to practise more...

Does the rank 2302 mean that Silver Dagger is number 2302 among all participants?
