France-England, halftime 1-1. Very entertaining match so far. I just switched from Dutch TV to Belgian TV because of the annoying comments from the Dutch reporter.

That's offside, even if the ball doesn't reach on of the two strikers in offside position.

Kleermaker this is not truth! When player is on offside position he HAS TO touch the ball or interfere with the opponent to stop the game. That's what rules says, not only referees. It's never too late to learn something new winking smiley

Well Stoneage, this kind of discussion about offside etc. never must stop in football, so I took another view on this matter. But I'm tending to 'dubious' now, so keep on trying cool smiley.

What's wrong with Frank Snoeks Hansie? Every minute about three jokes. Isn't that entertaining enough? winking smiley The Dutch reporter I most hate is Jeroen Gluter. He also always points out the wrong winner in swimming. Then he always has to say: I'm sorry, X finished as fifth, Y is the winner. Everyone saw Y win.

Not an extremely exciting match, but my first correct prediction. That makes up for it.

I'll take that. We are a pretty average team with a few players injured and Rooney suspended so a draw is a decent start. Not a great game though i will admit.

Thought it was a decent game, actually. Surprisingly good performance by what is an understrength and young England side.

Would have been nice to see us go for it a bit more though. I understand why we didn't but there was enough evidence when we did to suggest we could have caused them some problems. Encouraging to see us try to play the ball out from the back as much as possible rather than hoofing it forward too. I'm overall pretty positive tonight.

I'm glad to see the young Brit players didn't freeze to death when they saw the face of our own Riberi aka the Gorgon! grinning smiley

I always think of a "Street Fighting Man" when I see R-iberi

Thanks, I didn't know his name. But I think Keith can say better what I thought of that Frank Snoeks.

Sweden-Ukraine 0-0, half-time. Ukraine the better team so far. Sweden must take possession of the ball if they want to win. We can't just deliver long balls to Zlatan...

Sweden-Ukraine 1-2

Re: OT: Euro 2012

An entertaining match, but those Swedish guys got two really big chances and they blew both. While I had predicted 2-2. So I'm mad at the Swedish team. If they had scored in one of the last minutes my predictions of today would be totally right. Now only one of them and the other totally wrong.

Man of the match was of course that veteran Tsevchenko. What a headers!

Complete disaster. You can't "forget" to mark Sjevtjenko in a fixed situation. This is worse than Poltava. I switched of my TV set after 2-1...

First round finished, so far very good tournament and many goals. The most exciting games were: Poland-Greece, Ireland-Croatia and Ukraine-Sweden. All between weaker teams. We want more from title candidates.

However, szef, I wouldn't call Sweden a weaker team. We are number 10 on the FIFA World Cup ranking.

Here is a painting showing our second largest defeat in Ukraine. Then we only lost an army, this time, perhaps,
a place in the EC finals:

I know that you have better team than for example Czech, Poland or Ireland, but let's face the facts. Your last success was 3rd place in 1994 USA World Cup. After that you can only reach last 16 (World Cup) or last 8 (Euro). And for now only Zlatan is a real star. However, you were always good against England so i wish you all the best in the next game.

I hear you, szef. I really meant the World Cup Marathon Table though. We are number 10 there with 61 points. Brazil is number one with 216 points, followed by Germany, Italy, Argentina, England, Spain, France, Netherlands, Uruguay and Sweden. In that order.

Well at least I bet a lot of money on Ukraine, it was a win-win situation, if we would've drawn, I would've lost some wonga but we still would've been in the race. Now I won some cash but we'll draw against Albion and probably lose against the frog eaters. Only Zlatan was alright, the others should go home now so they don't make more mockery of themselves, I'd be better than them and I haven't touched a football for 2 months! Well well.... Brazil 2014 here we go!

I was right
France and our worst friends made a draw.
I am disappointed cos I think we could've won if we had more ambition.
Benzema was too slow and clumsy. It's fortunate we had Ribéry and Nasri and Cabaye who had lots of energy.
It will be quite difficult to beat Ukraine but I have more hope to beat the "clay" eaters.
