Date: May 25, 2012 15:07

After the last weird posts Would Stones tour without Charlie or Would stones tour without Keith and some time ago posted Would Stones tour withoun Ron....or would they need M Taylor or B Wyman...

The ultimate question is then...would stones tour withour Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ron?

Lemmy on bass? Susan Boyle on vocals? Chuck Leavell on piano? Justin Bieber on drums? Axl Rose on guitar?

Please my friends, whom would you propose? smiling smiley

What weird post?

I can appreciate a bit of fun making after all other ridiculous speculative posts that have
been a waste of time and webspace the last couple of weeks (months? years?) on iorr.
Of course this post is weird. But a lot of weird posts have had too much attention on here.

People are so concerned about the future. Why not play a bit of music instead of worrying?
Let's have fun. What happens tomorrow, we'll handle at the appropriate moment.

I want to get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

Why not? Great idea. Bill could play bass guitar, Mick T and the two guys behind the amps guitar. Charlie could easily be replaced by a more skilled drummer who can play all beats and who doesn't need stand ins on records. And wouldn't it be a relief to get rid of all the nasality? Justin bieber would be a great replacement for Mick. With him, at last the Stones would get the young girl audience they always were looking for...

Actually I was thinking about this very subject. The topic of "tribute" bands came up recently. Maybe the next phase will be tribute/copy bands that are licensed by the the original groups that tour arenas with big sound and perhaps show footage of the real groups projected on a screen.

I'm not saying it's a good idea. I just think it might happen.

Bloody great idea. Taylor, Wyman and Justin Bieber plus a couple unkowns- playing all Rolling Stones material... They could tour under the name- "the Kidney Stones".

I think eventually it may well happen, and not only with the Stones - or maybe the "virtual artist" technology that gave us Tupac Shakur this year will be developed to provide a visual show to go with original concert soundtracks. The 1972 Stones could go touring again... if there's a demand. Personally I think I'd rather see a good tribute band play live, but then I'm an old-fashioned kinda person.

This is already happening with Queen, isn't it?

never understood how a complete change of personel in a band can be the same band.

it works with partly changed personel and for the stones 1 of the positions in the band has been taken over by someone else, jones being replaced by taylor then him being replaced by wood.

the other 4 places in the band remained the same till bill left, so 3 of the band are still left, if any of them left it cant really be the same band as there would be more members who had left than there was continuing.

They all have enough money to clone themselves so wait for the Rolling Stones II in 2032.

Good grief - I'll be 83! We'd all better start saving up to clone ourselves, too.
