After the brain surgery, Keith's surgeon was living on Keith's estate in CT. I recall they got along well - talking about medical things and how the brain works. The conversations were deep and interesting for both of them.

Is this doctor still living on/near Keith's property? Anyone know?

I remember thinking how intruiging the conversations would be between a musician and a brain surgeon.

I wouldn't call keefs house an estate. It a nice house

A property at the end of a dead end road with large landscaped turn around with island, gated, with large gate house, secondary gate, 600 foot driveway, tennis court, swimming pool, hedged maze, 6 plus car garage, natural spring fed several acre pond 100 feet deep, house with 75% of the square footage of George Harrison' castle, surrounded by miles of forest, with only one neighbor, 1.5 hours from Manhattan, located in Weston, CN, is an estate.

JMO, but I don't see the doctor still hanging around Keith six years after the accident.

I seriously doubt if a neurosurgeon would give up his practise to live around Keith Richards for an extended period of time. The tour was a brief, limited period.

He seems to be open for business.

That's an estate...I once tried to find it on Google Earth just to see the size etc, but there are so many large houses in Weston that fit the bill, I gave up!

As far as quibbling about whether Keith has an 'estate' or not - it was the first word which came to mind. Call it what you will......it's still 'Keith's place'.

That all said, I cannot see Keith living in a castle like Mick's castle in the Loire Valley!

I love 'understated' - it's more homey and cosy. More family friendly. Kudos to Keith!! (One doesn't have to be "the biggest and the most flamboyant" in order to live a happy life.)

Now......I was talking about the DOCTOR..........

Google Maps - I think this is it if I remember correctly... can't see any signs of a doctor still living there, but it pretty much looks like an "estate".

Definitely not a stalker. I think I just saw it mentioned in an article a while ago and I love "travelling the world" on Google Maps and try to remember as many points of interest as possible and navigating to them without the search function. Pretty fun to look up things like for example Ayers Rock in Australia just by looking at the satellite pics without having an idea where it is.

I wonder what medical care Keith is having. I wonder if he has a personal doctor that attends to him. he probabaly takes alot of meds to combat drug abuse.

I would imagine that they ALL have personal physicians who tend to their various needs. Charlie said (paraphrasing) that he has a personal massage therapist on tour with him to help him relax before/after the shows.

As for Keith 'taking a lot of meds to combat drug abuse' - I doubt it. At the beginning of withdrawal, YES! To ease the suffering.

The 'most popular' drug on the market is alcohol! Perhaps he's using Antabuse for that. Who are we to judge?

And smoking is another 'popular' drug out there. That one's a hard one to kick. Again, who knows Keith's daily habits?

I know this, at the Dodger stadium show in 2006, Keef gave a shout-out to his doctor because he was "in da house", thanking him and attributing to him the fact that Keef could carry on with the tour.

Well I'm sure they had plenty to talk about. Keith is smart and well read by most standards. Just because he is a neuro surgeon doesn't mean he doesn't worship the rolling Stones. Besides, he obviously had to confinscate all of Keiths cocaine after telling him he couldn't use it anymore. That probably took a week just to change custody.

And another week to explain just "why" it was necesssary to take that old friend away from his life. Keith obviously isn't the 12-step program type but probably wouldn't "just say no" until the doc convinced him properly. LOL peace
