And "Rough Justice" doesn't sound like "You Got Me Rockin'" and "Must Be Hell" doesn't sound like "Soul Survivor". At least Aerosmith put something out...

Lovejuice. Steady there fella. You seem to be new around here and your aggressive posts are a sure way to get banned. Tone it down and agree to disagree respectably.
i agree. whats this persons deal? i didn't call anyone names or be mean or rude yet this no name came into the thread and went off like sam kinison
You've just hit the nail on the head—that's the problem with this forum. Exactly. People either have a name, or they're a "no name." Looks like they removed some of my words from this thread. Ah, good to see censorship is still alive and well in the free world. Guess you're not allowed to suggest certain people should be beaten. Repeatedly. Who knew!?
Just a refresher, I suggested Keefriffsoft4life was an idiot and had no idea what he was talking about when he assured all of us Aerosmith had/has never brought in professional, outside writers. As someone whom has worked in the music industry for over 20 years, and in fact, worked closely with Bruce Fairbairn (producer of Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip by Aerosmith) and engineer Mike Fraser, both at Little Mountain Sound and Armoury Studio, I can assure all of you, again, . . . Keefriffsoft4life is an idiot who has no idea what he's talking about. Also, whomever edits this site—randomly erasing people's words for content deemed offensive—is also an idiot. But, after all, who am I, just a "no name."
Banned? Ah ha ha! I'd wear that life a frickin' badge of honour my friend.
The "they" in this case is BV. Which means other people reported your post as not following the forums guidlines of respectful use. Your free to do what you want and say what you want, but here there are guidlines for respectful posting. Your suggestion that you would wear being banned as a badge of honor is intersting. One wonders why do you bother posting here? Anyhow, it is your choice, but remember the old axiom, "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all..." Peace be with you.Quote

How would you wear a badge of being banned as an honor when... it's a fansite on the internet? What, you gonna get a t-shirt printed up that says "I WAS BANNED FROM IORR.ORG!" ?
If you're banned you can't log on and say 'Hey y'all - I GOT BANNED! WOO HOO ROCK'N' ROLLLL!' because, see, you can't log on...
So no one would see you wearing your badge.
Back on subject somewhat - what was the dude's name that helped write those songs? Desmond Child? The Song Fixer. As I recall Aerosmith were not exactly happy with that happening...and then when they had whatever hit it was they were so cool with it that they had him do more for Pump (I haven't looked this up so I'm just guessing because I think that's what happened) and then they were so excited they wrote three songs that sound EXACTLY THE SAME on Get A Grip...

usually when BV deletes something i said i'm glad about it,sometimes you say something in a joking manner and in print it just looks extremely rude and heavy handed.its like,uh-glad he caught that one.
but back to the topic at hand.you guys look like you're vehemently agreeing with each other about the outside writers.i like aerosmith, they're a better live band than any of the records[sound familiar?]but its pretty well known they used professional songwriters for awhile.
as for the new song,i'll give it time.i hated that song that steven did with santana and then i heard it a few more times and realised its a great tune.

its only a big deal having outside writers in rock and roll.country artists do it all the time and no one cares a bit.
and im not talking about some third rate acts either.george strait for example is one of the biggest and best to come along in the last 30 years and he has writers.
i thought permanent vacation, pump and get a grip kicked ass.saw the tours for all three and they tore the house down.even if you dont like the band you should still go see them just for joe perry, that boy can play.

The main think keefriffhard4life is with the newly reconstituted Aerosmith is that they sound different, and not really like Aerosmith, and a lot of that is due to them not writing like they used to. And bringing in outside talent will change the dynamics of any band. It seemed like a calculated ploy to broaden their commercial appeal at the cost of their gritty rock and roll sound. There have been many interviews with Brad Whitford where he laments the fact that they don't write like they used to. And he missed being part of the writing team where him and Joe would work together on riffs, and Tyler would contribute lyrics. And because of the outside writers their sound has significantly changed. And Tyler and Perry let that happen, regardless if they asked their friends to come in and write, or if the label demanded it, Perry and Tyler let that happen and continued the trend well after they re-found their commercial appeal, and because of that their sound has changed. No more Toys in the Attic, or Rocks, but more watered down commercial hard rock that seems to sell oodles. I miss the old Aerosmith. I can see from your posts you are a big fan and defend them to the wall. But my friend the fact you have to defend them is the point. What I would give if they would drop the overly polished choruses and revert to their roots of good raunchy hard rock. And release a Rocks like album. That is what Joe keeps claiming they are doing, and that shows you where his heart is, but it never pans out, so he also goes along with it, why? Because he gets a massive pay check. But listen to his solo stuff and you can hear where his heart is, still with gritty hard rock.

longtime fans like me who still hark back to the band's mangy '70s style have to console ourselves with yet another spin of Make It.
