I find the attitude expressed toward Taylor (if accurately described) extremely puzzling.

- ¿Y estaría el guitarrista Mike Taylor?
- No. Pensamos en ello, pero no es aquel chico que era cuando era un genio.
It reads: - And will join Mick (Mike, sic) Taylor
- No. We thought about it, but he ain't the kind of guy he was when he was a genius.
WHAT?¿???

I like him a lot better than Bill Wymman.Quote

Oh, I love this! I love Bill Wyman.

Mick Taylor was never a "genius". He was just good at playing a guitar solo.

Okay, so he contributed ideas for guitar riffs and songs, as well. Still, not a genius. I agree that the term "genius" in music is floated around way too handedly but to put Mick Taylor alongside someone who is generally regarded as a genius is ridiculous, in my opinion.Quote

I don't know who is a "genius" and who isn't, but if you thought Taylor's only contributions to the Stones greatest records was playing solos you don't know very much about the Rolling Stones.

I don't understand this. Does Perks mean Taylor isn't up to one concert? I understand that they do not consider him for a big tour, but one concert?
You didn't receive your genius-o-meter in the mail when you signed up for IORR? Bummer.Quote

Then what the hell is a genius? And who gets to decide that?

Taylor recently took a shot at Wyman in an interview with the NY Daily News. Something to the effect that he had let go of any complaints about songwiting credits, unlike Bill Wyman.
Actual Quote:
“It was a little bit of a bone of contention at the time,” he allows. “But I don’t think I’m as bitter about it as Bill Wyman. I can’t believe Bill is really bitter after all these years. Come on!”

As much as I love the Taylor-Stones I think Wyman is quite right here. What I saw of Taylor lately he's no win for a Rockband anymore.Plus we don't know about his health situation.Think he just keeps playing because he has to for a living.
Of course it's not much better with Keith. But without Keith no Stones.
But wasn't there a comment from Keith like "we try to shape Taylor up"?
Rubbish.

What? Do you know about his present condition? What I've seen of him lately was far from impressive. Neither his playin nor his constitution was in form for a big tour.

Are you his doctor? Did you do an examination on him? Pray tell how you reached your diagnosis!

They're not going on a "big tour" with or without Taylor. And as for his recent playing, it sounds better than any guitar playing heard on the last Stones tour.

Yes, this is right. There was also the matter of Bill misspeaking or misunderstanding the arrangements of Taylor's financial settlement with the Stones when they parted ways, or perhaps the options Taylor did or did not have.
There were also the matters of Bill's recollection of Taylor's drug use (or not) in France, Bill's description/criticism of Taylor's stage presence in the Exile video, Bill's comments on Taylor's poor playing at a Rhythm Kings recording session - maybe all, some of none of these have something to do with these little comments back and forth (seemingly) lately. I don't know.
What a shame to accumulate this crap in memory, rather than have some good new Stones tunes to think about instead.

Q. What idea of Europe do you get with your travels? What about the crisis?
BILL: "I do not like the idea of Europe's rich and poor countries with the rich ones supporting the poor, and they will be lazy and not work as hard, because they will be helped anyway. This is what happened in Greece, I'm afraid...Many French are coming to England because they are going to raise taxes. Will the Spanish be next?"
Golly, what does this make Bill politically? (Good for Bill.)
