The same way Hollywood has been do it for decades. Pro makeup artists. Especially for SNL. They probabaly have some of the best.

Yes, he is a rather cute geek!! But his real hair sure looks great these days! Yes, I'm sure he touches up the color but he does have a great mane!

Whoa, pretty hot lookin' Mick there. Now why do his pupils always look so dialated? I thought he had outgrown cocaine years ago. Maybe he's switched to Adderall like most of Wall street and the modeling industry have. Wouldn't be surprised. But then again this is a dated photo. peace

SNL uses scores of wigs. They have wigs for the cast members that resemble their real hair because it is impossible to fix their hair sometimes between sketches. Mick likely wore a wig for every sketch. No comment on whether he wears extensions or has a weave for his "normal" look but check his hairline in the rain at Bangalore. That said, I thought he looked very well in the show.
