Thanks EB. IORR is really good. Close to the original. The thing is, the Stones could never have managed this. Even jagger's voice is better.

Mick was great- "The Last Time" was awesome!! I do not see any thing holding back a World Tour.

Thought Jagger sang really well, he certainly could do a tour! It's the first time I've ever seen SNL and I'm still in shock, what a truely awful, cringing, schmaltzy, sicophantic piece of shite TV. Christ, I though some British tv was getting bad but that takes the biscuit. Please BBC don't ever let us descend to these levels.

You're welcome...I enjoyed IORR too..I have thought sometimes it would be great for the Stones to actually play that rather than just rush through at breakneck speed.....it's quite bluesy really (slowed to original speed............

I hear ya! I stayed up late with only one mission. To see Mick. Howevevr, SNL will never be the same without Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, or even the pioneer days with Belushi Ack etc...

Those were the days!!!

The Last Time was the best of the tracks for me. Arcade Fire were way cooler than the Foo Fighters, who were trying just a bit too hard.

They probably never wanted to "manage" that version either, as it was recorded by Kenney Jones, Willie Weeks and Ronnie Wood, with Keith and Mick adding their bits + wiping Ronnie´s electric guitar track - hence they made their own version later on...

After seeing this I am even more certain Jagger told the band 'sorry guys' in December in London.

Sure, Dandelion. The sad thing however is that they haven't been able to do justice to hardly any song live for quite a long time. The Foo Fighters managed to reinvigorate IORR to something very close to the original, but still with a live feeling to it.

The Stones haven't performed IORR as good as Jagger did last night in at least 25 years.

Loved The Last Time the best. Can't help but thinking that Mick might be angling for a TV chat show host job after the Stones stop rolling.

How does one conclude Mick might be angling for a TV chat show job?

I didn't get that angle at all. No doubt it was fun to do it for one night but I doubt the hard work in preparation (that Mick admitted was A LOT) is something he'll want to do every week. Plus, he didn't outshine any other non-comedian types like Justin Timerlake or John Hamm who both have shown they could easily host such a show any time they want. Mick was good (and just good) but let's not carried away, shall we?

Disapppointed no Stones. But nice performances all around. It was good to hear IORR sounding like the album version again-more depth than Chuck Berry boogie version they've done since '89. Mick is freakin' force of nature man. Ageless.

Agreed - I have sans complaints - seemed like a joyous occasion all around.

I think it was cool as shit Mick played with these 2 relevant and talented bands. And it doesn't mean ANYTHING re: whether the Stones will or will not eventually play again. This was Mick's damn night and he was wonderful, as were the people he played with. I am SO elated Mick's this into it! Bully for him!

Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed it. Mick is looking fantastic, singing well and the musical backing was vastly superior to anything the Stones could offer at this time. (No slur on Charlie intended.)

I guess I don't understand why some people keep insisting on what this was NOT (often linked largely to their own desire for wish fulfillment) rather than for what it WAS!
