What would your fave AC/DC bootleg on dvd be? I like Paris 6/22/2001. It's great.

I was just listening to Powerage recently and was actually wondering the same thing. Maybe some seasoned ACDC fans can recommend a Bon Scott era bootleg for me to dig into.

Most of the best stuff that I had for years on wonky old VHS tapes was finally issued on the recent DVD's -plug me in and family jewels. Also, The Let there be rock movie has recently been reissued on DVD, and is the best distillation of the the Bon era, when they were the greatest live band ever. Not sure what else is really out there. You can watch their performance at California Jam 79 in You Tube clips. Interesting cause it's Bon fronting the band in front of a festival crowd, but fairly ropy quality.

Is that the one when they start playing half way through Pete Drummond's intro? If so that was a good one.

I saw AC/DC with Bon and then a little later with Brian. Both great but preferred Bon.

Indeed it was. About 4 minutes in,

I heard the Back In Black-version with Bon Scott while I was on tour.

That sure was a great one! Never heard that before.

I love some of the live clips from 1981/82 on the Plug Me In DVD. The live Lets Get It Up absolutely rocks. One day, I'd love to see them release a complete show from the BiB tour.

My favorite AC item would be my TV

My favorite DC would be my car battery

That's interesting, especially given the fact that Brian Johnson wrote the lyrics to the song. What you heard must have been the riff with a different set of lyrics.

Also, there was a claimed version of Bon doing BIB on youtube which turned out to be a phony.

It´s a fake, actually, not Bon. it´s Jessie James Dupree from Jackyl, and it´s not ACDC playing

Was there not an AC/DC tribute album with Joe Lynn Turner from Rainbow singing BIB which some thought was an early Bon demo? Again, tough to have Bon sing when Brian wrote the lyrics!
I believe AC/DC only played in Vancouver once with Bon, and that was opening for Aerosmith in 78. They did play one of their first ever concerts with Brian in Vancouver on the BIB tour in July 1980.

AC/Dc what a band, I had the pleasure to see them in Manchester in the late 70's...wasn't overly keen on them but a few friends were going and it was free ride there and back..that gig totally changed my opinion of them. It was high energy rock n roll. Not heavy metal as people wrongly referred to them. Just very loud, but in actual fact some excellent guitar playing and the singing was equal to it. No seats in the venue and all hell broke loose, but my did we have a time!

I saw them May 78 at the Hammersmith Odeon, I only went to see the British Lions (Mott the Hoople spin-off) who were the support. We hung around to see what ac/dc were like. They were bloody brilliant.

After the mediocre ball breaker and stiff upper lips albums, i stayed away from their latest release: Black Ice. Finally, after having ignored it for a few years - I bought it last year before a long road trip and was just blown away.

If you like AC/DC, and haven't heard Black Ice - run out and buy it. It's amazing. Brians's voice is probably the best since those early 80's albums. Maybe the best ever. It's like he got his range back and yet matured and aged like a fine wine (his voice sounded blown out to me on the past few albums)

Such a strong album.
The one two punch of Spoiling' for a Fight and Wheels is up there with anything they've done...
