Thank God.
As a kid, it depressed the hell out of me. I remember hearing it on the elementary school morning school bus - what a way to begin another day in hell.
The "starfish on the beach" line was a bit dubious.
Ahh......memories...
Why not? It's certainly gonna be more civil and mannerly.
Another thing about that song is that poet Rod McKuen had something to do with it.
He was always on those daytime talk shows like Dinah or Mike Douglas back then, right when I came home from school.

Maybe you guys were just too old to appreciate him. I loved the dude when I was 5 years old. Used to crawl around the house humming seasons in the sun. He, therefore, has a place in my heart. peace

Terry Jacks' "Concrete Sea" was an early favourite of my baby sister.....Jacks certainly brings back some nice memories for me. He had some decent tunes.
