Yes. But it was better when I was a 16-year-old watching it in a movie theater, excited as all hell watching R&R like that. My favorite moment from L&G.

Yes. Keith is nailing all the solos, the rythm section is on point and Mick Jagger knows those words like he had written them. On stage, their interpretattion of Chuck Berry's music is really tight but it swings nonetheless . Fantastic!

I don't think one would become a member of IORR and not ADORE this clip. This is what this
site is all about.

I want to get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

This is fantastic - indeed one of the 72-highlights! But IMO beaten by (just audio) "Dont you lie to me", which was sometimes performed in 72 (boot: Ahmet Ertegun, thank you kindly) .....

That's how I love my Stones!
This one and the great Don't lie to me from same tour . . and generally Stones doing Berry . .

Don't You Lie To me. Only played once during the '72 Tour: Fort Worth, June 24, second show (so not Philadelphia). Solo by Taylor this time:

I think if you use the word "adore" its required by law that you use an affected & exagerrated gay voice while doing so. grinning smiley

I'll second that emotion. Always loved that sequence. A wonderful Mick n' Keith moment.

Getting both angles of their interaction puts you right up there with the band.

Do you mean Mick breezing through there after securing the hat? Or the young kid who lucked into some very good seating arrangement?
I love the guitars here. The solo obviously. But in the second verse Keith's Les Paul under Jagger's vocals - the word 'slashing' comes to mind.
See this is where Taylor IMO plays exactl;y the kind of rhythm that suits the song best. The Stones 'roll' is in action, but w/o Taylor staying on the basic low strings it would get the Ronnie-era chop.
(And I love them both I hurry to add)

ahhhh, back in the days when Mick didn't mind sharing a Microphone with Keith, let alone being on stage with him while he was singing.

Also my favourite Stones clip, for me it epitomises everything they stood for and the connection between Jagger and Richards gives me the rushes just to see. Drug fuelled, high energy rock n roll. THe Glimmer twins at their peak. How I would love to see them sharing the mike just one more time...and not just because Scorsese tells them to!

Well, this was a great moment during the 72 tour. Anytime the Stones cranked up a Chuck Berry number it was always the sh&t. Pity in the L&G film that the camera was all over the place and not just centered on the band and especially Keith's solo. I love this film, but the BBJ cut just reminds me how messed up the camera was for much of this production. Yes, indeed those were the days. My goodness those were hot sweaty gigs to attend that summer!

3:23 in this clip is equally wonderful - appears that mick is reminding keith of the lyric tweak in the final chorus - remember - this was not played on tour but for these couple of shows

I've always loved Mick Taylors work on this tune! I've stolen it and used it a couple of times.
