525 Euros would be plausible. You can't charge 5225 Euros for a Seiko watch.

This is how it works: Right now, they are in the "testing demand" stage. If
demand is weak, they'll only make a hundred or two. They will all sell of
course, because watch collectors want very limited editions, which historically
do hold their value. But if demand is decent, then maybe they might make a
thousand or two. At most.

I agree, this is gratuitous BS. I rarely bash the boys/organization, but fk this.
It is one thing when they are making new music and touring and selling crap associated with that... but it is another to simply whore out the Stones name and (supposed... whenever the hell it really is) 50th anniversary to sell over priced $8,000 watches (that are proably be resellable(even in 20 years) for less than 50 bucks) simply to add another drop of money in their already massive bucket of money.
I am still their biggest fan, love all the music I have and am happy with all the crap I have wasted my money on... I am not sorry about any of it... but I wont be giving them another penny (except for actual music e.g. vault releases) until Mick and Keith themselves exert some actual musical effort and I dont mean a simple stint on SNL and I sure as hell dont mean the lackadaisical effort exerted to hire a bunch of marketing schmucks to dream up more crap to sell under the Stones name. It would be nice to see a wide boycott, and low sales for this shit... but that will never happen. They will probably sell a thousand of these, and that is why they do it.

Even if it is about an over priced Stones watch, it is Stones news.ThanksQuote

Actually a Seiko watch has a better build quality than a Rolex. The Swiss have just been better at promoting their brands and protecting a European aura about watches.
I am a bit of an expert on watches and I would spend 5000 euros on a Seiko before I would spend it on a Rolex. However, I don't have 5000 euros to spare for a watch let alone would I spend it on one with the lips.

Seiko builds modern watch components internally that are more durable and last longer. A standard Rolex is, by design, hand built and fragile. The parts on a standard Rolex are more difficult to deal with and are often easily broken. The winding stem on a Rolex can be easily snapped by giving it a hard twist in the wrong direction. Most retail shops will charge 300 to 500 USD parts and labor. THe Seiko is tougher and the parts and service are less. So you get more for your money on an initial purchase because the Rolex will need more attention and money just to keep it working. And yes, Seiko watches do keep better time.

Seiko has a high end line too. Here's one on ebay for over $7000, also not gold.
Wonder how much the gold one will cost?
