It was nice seeing Mick on tv again. There is no doubt that he was charming, funny in skits, and gracious (especially the way he kinda stepped aside and let Kristen Wigg have her farewell moment). Unfortunately, there was a disconnect with seeing Mick Jagger doing Stones tunes with an assortment of current back-up bands (who in their own right, are very talented). To me, it didn't seem like a good fit. If the Stones are able to tour next year, then the season final of SNL gave them advance publicity. Otherwise, it will be good publicity for Jagger doing what he did in 1988-going on tour solo with a back-up band playing Stones tunes....

I thought the whole thing was lame and sad: Mick Jagger trying desparately to appear relevant. The skits were weak and unfunny. Both Arcade Fire and especially the wanna-be Foo Fighters were awful. Not that a Stones appearance would have been any better under the circumstances.

If they are saying farewell to a bunch of SNL regulars, that'll be the reason for the big turnout of old cast members. Good grief - iorreans can start a fight in an empty room. No comment from me on the show until I've seen it, or whatever bits of it manage to get out on YT.

Only seen the music vids..Thought they were really good..Proper bass playing with Arcade Fire!!.For me it worked well..Really enjoyed it.
