I just want to make a point of the comment below in bold.
mtaylor, people use false (or true) identities sometimes around here to repeat
my posts, to sew suspicion and try to get me into trouble. while
i'm sure you doing it was mere coincidence, hopefully you can understand
my situation...

i have no allies or confederates here. i communicate with no one here via email
or other private means. i have no false identities of my own.

And so after three days we need to make our first revisions to the betting line

Quote
superrevvy

early betting line:

Arcade Fire "Let's Spend the night together" "The Last Time"

Foo Fighters featuring Jeff Beck "Satisfaction"

Rolling Stones "start me up"

Sidebets: No Taylor SNL. But yes Taylor on the tour (not on stage for every song).
Was on bass, except when Wyman is available.

Gnite all!

Just got more infomation and I am upset about it. I was lead to differnet conclusions over the past five days but my sources have come clean on what they know.

The rehearsals in the NYC area we more meeting that playing. The Dec. London jam was a start of sorts but all is off and lost at the moment. They had bid on the film job of the rehearsals, did not get it (price and schedule issues), spoke to those who got further in the process and were astounded at what happened and dismayed.

The SNL thing might have worked and the late news of Arcade and Foo and Beck are to make up for what might have been planned. My source is resigned to the fact that the end has arrived for the Rolling Stones. As a band, he said, they can't even be in the same room.

Attempts at putting the band onstage at this point may sully their legacy and reputation.

The solo projects by Charlie, Ronnie and MT are a way of staying relevant and using what they can of the anniversay timeline...not to mention promoting the re-issues.

The dream appears to be over. But I still have their music.

I just woke up. For no reason. Went to rs dot com. For no reason.

well, of course there is a reason. i really need some new stones.

I'm like really groggy and out of it. They got this pic there. I know its similar
to some of the Bigger Bang publicity shots. But I don't recognize the clothing.
Plus Keith's hair (with a new dye job) looks more like now than six years ago.

just somebody slap me and tell me its bigger bang era...

Just seen this comment on Jeff Beck site.

'Jeff to play alongside Mick Jagger on Saturday Night Live on the 19th May.......... make sure you watch it!'

First news comment on there since White House gig.May mean playing a song with Mick or just appearing on same lineup. My bet is it will be 'Commit a Crime' with Jeffs' band and Mick on vocals.I might be wrong ,but we could get some surprises, but I don't think it will be a Rolling Stones reunion.

So then, all the first hand accounts that have leaked through from people actually AT the rehearsals are all involved in some kind of conspiracy?

It's weird to think about their normal crew not there but what exactly couldn't the crew at the rehearsal space not be able to handle that they couldn't do it themselves? They use the amps that are at the rehearsal space...Keith/Ronnie bring in their guitars or also use the axes that are available to them. Don Was comes along and fills in on the bass on a couple blues tunes. Keith may not know the songs like the back of his hand but it's not exaclty rocket science to play along to "Tallahassie Lassie" or who knows whatever song they played.

One of the main reasons for these "rehearsals" is the filming of the documentary, just like it was in December(I know that Gazza's source told they didn't film, but Rolling Stone said the opposite and I believe them more)

Well regardless if they filmed it or not...they DID meet. Mathijs is still stuck on the fact that they never met and this is some kind of master conspiracy. I just don't see what value they have in all coming together and lying. For what benefit? For the fan boys on this forum? What good has it done to say they came together to rehearse? Nothing. It only fueled endless speculation--that Mick does NOT want put on him. If I recall correctly, it was RS magazine that got the scoop directly from Keith that they were meeting in London to jam. No where else was it mentioned. Then Mick later mentioned how it went. To suggest that all this was false and never happened...I just don't see the point in any of them wasting their time in doing so....

I never said they didn't meet. Sure they met in December in London, there's sufficient proof of that. But to my mind there was no session at all for the reasons I have given. The crew wasn't there as far as I know, and without them they really can't play properly. No one of the backing band was there. Reportedly, Jagger came the third day and didn't stay too long. So what do we have -Watts has stated various times he would not go on a tour anymore, only maybe some special gigs. Richards whom has proven he is a totally retired guitarist and musician, and the vaults have opened, something Jagger wasn't keen on as long the band was still touring.

To my mind, there's two possibilities: Jagger told the band he calls it quits, but wants to cash in, or they decided to do gigs (not a tour) in 2013, and that everybody has four months to get in shape, which unfortunately I do not see happening with Richards.

Mathijs

So then Richards saying to Rolling Stone that they played some blues with Bill Wyman and Mick joined on day three is just a vast conspiracy? Why would they bother?

No this probably happened. But then again, this is all that happened probably. They rented a studio with some equipment, and the played some blues, waiting for Jagger to arrive. When he arrived, he only stayed for a brief moment. Why?

I don't know. But I just really am suspicious and do believe that it is all over. The crew for over 25 years does not seem to be hired by the Stones anymore, Richards seems retired from being a musician since his brain seizures...it just doesn't look good.

Well, not all of this is true.

Pierre did in fact report about Keith-sessions earlier, and Mick stayed for one of the three days, due to other obligations, not for a brief moment.

We all have our sources, and they keep on contradicting eachother now. I bet this is what the Stones want at this point of time.

Where do you get that he stayed for a "brief moment"? He came on the last day of a very informal jam to check-in with the dudes he works/worked with.

Were people expecting them together after a 4 year hiatus and just begin writing a new album or something?

I do not believe there is a conspiracy to dis or mis inform fans. If there is a surprise coming they want to keep it quiet but really there is no vast conspiracy.

As to my sources hearing from those that got the film job it was not friendly in the studio: I am only relaying information. People in the same industry talk tone another and share experiences.

Interesting that Beck's page lists his appearance with Jagger. I take this to mean Richards was not ready just as he said earlier a few months ago. Whatever the reason I nope he's ok but I would like hear him play.

Nothing personal, but I hope your sources are weak. The Richard's thing 'not being ready' is of course already confirmed....I wonder if the intention all along was to actually have the Stones join Mick for SNL, as a 'surprise' as we speculated, but as Keith's playing became an issue, they went with Plan B.

All that may become clearer after this saturday, although we may never know for sure.

One thing I think we could be certain of, is that if it had occured to us that the Stones could play on SNL, and annouce their 50th anniversary tour, then it probably would have occured to them. For them not to take advantage of it isn't logical, as it is a huge televised platform.

On the other hand, maybe there really wasn't any choice in the matter, and that would be the tragic part.

In what could be the most significant product placement since the first iPad
arrived on ABC’s “Modern Family” in 2010, Color and Verizon Wireless are teaming up
with “Saturday Night Live” for the season finale of NBC’s long-running late night
program. “SNL” cast members and crew will be streaming live backstage using the
Color for Facebook app during this week’s rehearsals and Saturday night’s finale.

To get backstage, all you’ll need to do is like Verizon Wireless or “SNL” on
Facebook and get the free Color for Facebook app. From there, you can experience
the unexpected and unpredictable mayhem that has delighted fans for five
decades. Once “SNL” shoots live video, you’ll get a little notification on your
@#$%& to tune into the live Color video broadcast, so you don’t miss any of the
behind the scenes action.

I wouldn't call it logical to announce a tour - and especially not one that is so keenly anticipated - on a platform that can't be accessed by another huge audience called the rest of the world.

As one might expect, the city with the highest concentration of facebook

More interesting I think is that the age group with the most facebook stones

Also interesting is that if the Facebook IPO happens Friday, it could very well
