I guess whitem8 knows well.

Listening gamelan music is one of the best way to generate Alpha Waves.
"How Can I Stop" has the same effect, too.

Yes, Gamelan is quite unique and beautiful. The school I work at, we have a student Gamelan orchestra, and often have professional dalams come to give shows. It is very calming, and quite necessary to help calm the big city jitters of Jakarta!

For me there is a time and place for gamelan, and today was it, as I viewed a spectacular show, shot in High Def, featuring Japanese Kingfisher Birds. It was amazing and beautifully shot and had a very nice Gamelan soundtrack. It fit perfectly. And indeed it was all very peaceful.

What an amazing bird, an amazing show with a great sound track.

It was called Kingfisher, directed by Takahiro Yokosuka, shot in rural Hokkaido Japan.

Not to be confused with Gamalon the LA based prog rock band from the 1980's. That one record they made had some damn good guitar on it! I actually prefer it to the clips posted here. Not sure what was healing about them? Made me want to run and hide. Like latin catholic mass meets the wind chimes from hell. Sorry, to each his or her own. peace
