You got to pretend your face is a Maserati

It's a fast one too man, that thing's turbocharged
You feel like a little fuel injection honey?

I gotta get that hood scoop off, shine and shine and buff
I gotta buff it up, buff it up, buff it up, buff it up, buff itup,
Yeah, shiny now baby, heh heh heh
You've been drivin' all night long
It's time to put the old Maserati away
So you look for a garage, you think you see a garage
Wait a minute, Hey!, there's one up ahead
And the damn thing's open
Hello! Get in there!

Is my baby alive? (Is my baby alive?)
Is my baby alive? (Is my baby alive?)
Is my baby alive?
She Wango'd to death

Wango Tango (Wango Tango)

As a rule of thumb (and of course there are exceptions to every rule about humans) I would rather be with a 35-40 year young woman who understands has a better idea of what she enjoys and desires... than be with some ditzy 18-20 year old girl who is still trying to figure out what the fk is going on.

isn't being with a young girl not really a big deal in Europe? Their views towards that thing are different than, say, North America.

Whats the matter with taking a teenager to a Ted Nugent Show? Are you that uptight, loosen up and stop being so anal. Your closing comment about 13 year old girls just shows your ignorance

Searching for the perfect inexpensive gift for the classic rock fan/hunting enthusiast in your life? Look no further, because Ted Nugent is giving away a deer skull autographed by the Motor City Madman himself.

The rules for the contest are simple. To win, all you have to do is count how many times Nugent says “Are ya kidding me?!” on episode 26-2012 of ‘Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild’ on the Outdoor Channel. The episode originally aired on March 19, but will be re-broadcast on June 18.

Full information on how to enter can be found on Nugent’s website, which has a picture of the deer skull. A runner-up will receive an autographed 8×10 photo and a decal pack. The contest will end on June 25 with the winners notified a week later.

Nugent, whose seminal album ‘Cat Scratch Fever’ turns 35 this month, is known for his love of hunting, but it has sometimes gotten him in trouble. Three weeks ago, he pleaded guilty to violating Alaska and federal restrictions on bear hunting. Nugent was fined a total of $10,600, given two years probation and cannot hunt or fish in Alaska or Forest Service property for one year. He will also have to create a public service announcement about obeying hunting laws that will run on his show.

The Erie County Fair stage is set up on a horse track just south of Buffalo, NY. the lowest you can get in the area. 100 year old bleachers and the whole bit. Maybe Nugent will win a blue ribbon for the best pediphile in his red neck class.

How do you know that it was not Ted who was in charge and Styx and REO are following the leader? and I say that having no issue with the venues, they are fine venues... if you look at who else is playing these exact venues... it is anyone touring these types of (sizes of ) places... nobody turns their nose up to the Mohegan Sun.

ah, thanks for the tip.... I didnt know that Nugent was the opener... I guess if I wasnt so lazy, I could have... eerr... I should go read some reviews, after all, they did play last night winking smiley.... btw- my how times have changed.... if this line up had toured back in 1978 it would have sold out 80,000-100,000 football stadiums... then again these day I too have zero interest in REO (without Gary Richrath).... and only 1/2 interest in Styx...

EDIT- CONCERT REVIEW

yeah.... yup yup yup...
Just the other night they played that disusting trailer park, the ugliest venue in the world, Red Rocks

Styx, REO Speedwagon, Ted Nugent at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 5/8/12

Nugent started the night off in fine style, gaining bonus points for most creative use of guitars not played. A Gibson Les Paul was hung in front of every speaker stack, and more were put on stands on top of the stacks. Nugent also hung a Colorado flag from one guitar stack, and made reference to Red Rocks being “God’s country” before launching into “Cat Scratch Fever,” which he described as “the sexiest guitar lick ever,” then closed with the classic “Stranglehold.”

Next was REO Speedwagon. If Kevin Cronin’s voice seemed a little thinner, he could still hit most of the high notes during REO’s set. During the opener, “Take it on the Run,” images from the band’s opus “Hi Infidelity” flashed on the screen behind them.

Cronin seemed overly wordy at times, delivering a pompous speech about finding common political ground and alluding to possible political differences between the three passionate acts before launching into “Golden Country.” Other stories worked better, such as his anecdote about first hiking to the top of Red Rocks with his mother when he was two, and of course the story about writing “Ridin’ the Storm Out” after the band was caught by a snowstorm while on a hike near Estes Park.

Styx finished the evening off with its usual well-oiled performance. After the first few songs, it seemed the band was playing a note-for-note rendition of last summer’s show, but there were some changes.

There’s something about Styx that breaks through the cynicism and has you pumping your fists almost against your will. Even some of the band’s longer songs, like “Come Sail Away,” aren’t very complex, but perhaps that is part of their genius.

Lawrence Gowen added a classic rock touch by having the audience sing parts of “Black Dog,” “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2,” and “We Will Rock You,” as the intro to “Come Sail Away,” and he laid the bombast on thick by standing on top of his keyboard during the final verse. The seemingly ageless Tommy Shaw ripped through “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)” and “Too Much Time on My Hands” with gusto, and original bassist Chuck Panozzo was welcomed to the stage on several songs, including the encore of “Renegade.”

Set lists

lol....

and hey look... another review from another trailer park of an arm pit of a disgusting venue... The Greek Theater...

Concert review: Styx, REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent bring hit after hit to the Greek Theatre
05/07/2012 05:18:52 PM PDT

A generation ago, teenagers everywhere loved rock bands Styx and REO Speedwagon.
It's 2012, we're still around getting old and gray, and both bands still performed spectacularly under a full moon Sunday before a capacity crowd at the Greek Theatre.

Who would have thunk? The critics and "cool people" never liked such "faceless" acts as Styx and REO Speedwagon back in the day -- despite the multiplatinum records, hit radio songs and sold-out arena tours -- but there they were both at the Greek performing a stream of well-executed classic hits as the place went wild.

Styx guitarists Tommy Shaw and James Young and part-time bassist Chuck Panozzo (who joined for the last few songs) are holdovers from the group's heyday, and Shaw was

Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon performs Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. (Gerry Gittelson/Los Angeles Daily News) in an especially good mood.
"It's always great to be playing the Greek -- and not just because my house is five minutes away!" Shaw told the crowd.

Shaw had his best moments on "Foolin' Youself," "Blue Collar Man" and "Renegade," and Young kicked ass on "Miss America" and "Lorelei."

Keyboardist/vocalist Lawrence Gowan, who joined in 1999 as a replacement for Dennis DeYoung, sounded like a god on "Grand Illusion," "Lady" and a stirring rendition of "Come Sail Away" that saw confetti stream down onto the crowd.

There were nearly 6,000 in attendance, and all of us liked Styx more than the Sex Pistols when we were growing up, though we did not want to admit so at the time for fear of being beat up by a punk rocker. Well, we're still here, Styx is still here, and that was reason enough to pump our fists in the air and sing along to every chorus. REO Speedwagon went over well, too. Like Styx, the fivesome hails from Illinois but now makes its home in Los Angeles, and singer Kevin Cronin proved he meant business right away by starting off with "Take It on the Run."

A memorable hit was never more than a few minutes away, as REO Speedwagon pumped its way through "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Pushin' On," "Time for Me to Fly," "Ridin' the Storm Out" and, of course, "Keep on Loving You."

The sun was still out when Ted Nugent opened. The 63-year-old guitarist does not have as many familiar songs but got a good response with "Hey Baby," "Cat Scratch Fever," "Stranglehold" and a few others.

ps
as a home work assignment, everyone has to look up their own pictures of the Greek Theater concert venue and trailer park.

Much more deatiled reviews.... [highwiredaze.com]

First up on the Midwest Rock’N'Roll Express was one Motor City Madman, aka The Nuge, Uncle Ted, one Ted Nugent. Playing on a stage lined with guitars, Nugent broke out some of his choicest songs like Cat Scratch Fever, Wang Dang Sweet Poontang and Wango Tango. His groove-oriented songs were often short on sentiment, the lyrical subject matter mostly about sex, women and good times and a lovely lady was invited out to shimmy and shake to bring the point home. He called out to some originators of rock’n'roll like Little Richard, James Brown, Chuck Berry and many many more, saying if it wasn’t for them, there wouldn’t be any rock music in the world. After hearing this I now can spot those influences in his music. Closing out the set, Stranglehold sounds like no other song out there: a slow-burning number with “Wild” Mick Brown (formerly of Dokken) laying out a suspenseful tempo, Greg Smith slinking around on bass and Derek St. Holmes and Nugent squeezing out guitar peals and playing like a rising storm. The song grooves along on triumphant highs and sexy lows before finally breaking loose in the last minute, causing the audience to jump around and go nuts.

Our ears still ringing from Ted Nugent’s high decibel set, REO Speedwagon showered us with their sunny songs of love and positivity. The band began their set with Take It On the Run, a song about a rocky relationship, the impossibly fit and youthful Kevin Cronin singing with gusto, Dave Amato’s angry guitar solo reflecting the nature of the lyrics even as the whole band had huge smiles on their faces. REO is a band that’s been around long enough to understand howmanship, dressing nice and acknowledging the audience. Their set was so full of energy and they all looked like they love what they’re doing. Keep Pushin’ sounds like a new song for all the vitality the band put into it.

Bassist Bruce Hall, with his white hair flowing took the microphone for Back on the Road Again, a bluesy rocker that reminded the audience that before they wrote ballads, REO was a bar band for years.Of course there were the ballads. Hands and lighters waved in the air for I Can’t Fight This Feeling, couples hugged and kissed and fans sang along without irony to this classic love song. Keep On Loving You came later, Cronin on piano, a singalong about unconditional love, with another excellent solo from Amato. Cronin stayed at the piano to begin Roll With The Changes, singing about “deserts burnin’ and “sweet sun showers” inciting the audience to sing along. After that lovefest, REO Speedwagon encored with their hardest rocking song of the night: Ridin’ the Storm Out. The fans in my section finally took to their feet and sang along as Amato soloed and Neal Doughty played some tasty organ runs. If you get a chance to see REO Speedwagon the next time they come to your town, do yourself a favor and get your tickets early because these guys know how to put on a great show!

Headlining the night was Styx, the band that knocked REO’s Hi Infidelity out of the number one spot with their Paradise Theater album. Last year fans got to hear Pieces of Eight and Grand Illusion performed live in their entirety, this time around fans got to hear hits from the band’s long career. And what songs they were! Tommy Shaw, another eternal youth, began the set with Blue Collar Man, celebrating the working class, the packed Greek Theater singing at the tops of their lungs. Singer and keyboardist Lawrence Gowan took over for Grand Illusion, his theatricality a great fit for the band. Gowan’s throaty vocals and attention to the audience led us into continuing to singing lyrics about not being drawn in by celebrity and besting your neighbors saying that “deep inside we’re all the same”. His keyboards and James “JY” Young’s guitars captured the magnificence of the song and sentiment wonderfully. Riding on that high, the 80's keyboard sequences of Too Much Time On My Hands began, Tommy Shaw making faces and having fun, bringing the microphone around to the audience to trade lines about wasting time and daydreaming while (likely) being unemployed. While Lady is the better known song, Lorelei is even better, a hard rocking celebration of love sang by JY and joined by the rest of the band, with the chorus “Lorelei let’s live together/ Brighter than the stars forever,” a song that put smiles on our faces and was quiet heartwarming.

Tommy Shaw sang the lovely and forlorn Man In The Wilderness, the first of four more songs from The Grand Illusion. Original bassist Chuck Panazzo joined the band for Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man), a call to the youth to “Get up, (get up!) get back on your feet/ You’re the one they can’t beat and you know it”. Gowan spun his keyboard around, played it with his hands behind his back, and we all sang along as usual, raising our voices in exaltation.

Miss America came along to blast any progressive nostalgia out of our heads with JY taking over on the vocals as the band tore into the hardest rocking song of the night and likely of Styx’ catalog. A pumping disco rhythm and angry guitars backed JY’s growling vocals about the “Apple of the public’s eye” and how she’s put on display and has her life taken away. The whole band just tore this song apart and left us happily exhausted.

For their encore Styx played Rockin’ The Paradise, showering us with confetti, the colorful backstage screen showing a theater marquee with scenes of the band performing from the past, followed by Renegade, with silhouetted horses and western themes, the audience out of their seats for the upbeat song about running from the “long arm of the law”.

Lights flashed in our eyes, guitars squealed, keyboards rang and sang, confetti fell and minds were blown.
