EXCLUSIVE: The Rolling Stones and Richard Branson are teaming up again.
Having released three Stones albums back in the 1990s on Virgin Records,
Branson’s Virgin Produced has now acquired the rights to Robert Greenfield’s
2008 book Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones.
Unlike past looks at this time in the Stones career, this film is a drama not
a documentary....
i wonder if they'll hire stonesrule as a consultant, to make sure they do it right.

It reads as over dramatic and totally rushed. A book dedicated to this era/time frame deserved so much better than what Greenfield shat out.
It should have been much more in depth and thought out. No music was discussed.
Plus, much of this book seems to be Greenfield arguing against Tony Sanchez' book using interviews with Tommy Webber as proof. When in fact Tony's recollections were probably much more accurate.
Also, Greenfield had the balls to call out other authors for so called mistakes in their stones books only to have a few blatant ones of his own in this book.

The thing I remember most about "A Season In Hell" was the claim that Mick Taylor
was leaving notes around saying "I don't want to be a Rolling Stone".

yes, Greenfiel read somewhere about Taylor having a penchant for too many notes and got it all wrong as usual

I enjoyed Freejack
Because it's even worse than a super heavy thread.Quote

i've heard so many negative comments about "a season in hell" over the
years but i haven't read it. why is it considered so bad?

Greenfield wasn’t at Nelcote and pieced his book together from secondhand accounts
This actor looks like a great pick as Jagger...and as I suggested in another thread, perhaps Russel Brand might be an OK choice for Keith. The film would have to better than the book...I think...I hope...I pray.Quote

Greenfield's book is crap, of course, but the story itself is asking for a big screen. It has everything - the unity of time and space, real passions, a spirit of the times and of course the strong characters. And the conflict that develops on a personal and creative levels. If they want to make a decent movie they have a lot of material, and the book can serve as a basis for a narrative.
I have a couple of thoughts about the actors. Ezra Miller is ideal for Jagger - he is handsome, can sing and a terrific actor (check him in we must talk about Kevin). However he is only 20 years old...
Ben Whishaw is perfect Keith
