If I understand correctly Ronnie said something like "It beats receiving a knighthood".
Keith must have been proud.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Maybe Rod doesn't have the vocal chops to be 'Rod Stewart' anymore.

There were a few here that protested that Rod could still do it. It seems to be that the ceremony would have been the place to prove it.

Not sure how he could "do it"...Ronnie's said in the past that when they got together (maybe 2 years ago now?) with Rod to bang around some tunes, Rod requested that they lower the key to some if not all of the songs. The band was happy to oblige but Ronnie admitted just how "off" all the guitars sounded/felt once they did that.

So I'm just not sure just how exactly Rod can join them if he both parties are unhappy with the music if they were to accommodate for the other....?

Good old Bill German...he enjoyed yet another night in the company of honest Ron and has posted on facebook that Rod won't be playing the Hall of Fame gig as he has 'throat problems' ...Wonder if he's been kissing Keith?

I hope it turns out that this is actually Rod boycotting the
"Rolling Stone Magazine Music Museum in Cleveland"... which is what it really is.

I think it is so funny that Jann Wenner induted himself into this thing, while ignoring so many great artist who actually make music... not just talk about it.

....uhh...it's a marketing tool...a brilliant one...and it makes a lot of money...for that reason alone he should be in it.

Agreed, the initial concept was a great idea but these days it has just got silly...still some people who should have been in it years ago and have been ignored whilst others seem to be ushered in for no real reason at all. Somewhere someone is getting their palms greased in all this!

Sore throat or not, Rod just can't sing like that anymore. Wish he could. There are reports of Rod and Woody recording a song with Mick Taylor for a TV show or something.

Whose Rod and why did he pull out?

Golden Rod should finish every job he starts.
He'd better not blow it. And no, Ron's Wood
has nothing to do with any of this.

Mick Hucknall is flying over to the states as I type.
The Faces will play without Rod.

Straight from the press conference with Ronnie, Ian, and Kenney...

I first saw the Faces at Kingston Poly in 1971 not long after the release of Every Picture Tells A Story .
He had a sore throat then, cynics in the audience concluded he had become a bit big for his boots and didn't really want to be at the that type of gig anymore.
Fair play to him he did perform and the band went down a storm,so he has suffered all through his career with throat problems.
My late sister Maggie, though not a fan would not have a word said against him,as he was a patron of a charity she was involved with, and said he always turned up for any event organized by the charity.
Both he and Penny Lancaster would attend and Maggie spoke with them both on a few occasions and said they were very personable people.
I have since knowing this ,had a lot more respect for him.
Unfortunately he can't sing like he used to anymore,I am however grateful to him for all the music he has made over the years.

I'm sorry, but thats total bullshit. At least don't get everyone's @#$%& hopes up months ago when you confirm you'll all be there. I'm not even that big of a Faces fan, but I was very excited to see Rod up there again with them. Total bullshit.
