I have 4 brothers that couldn't wait to ask me if I knew anything about the Exile and Some Girls releases which actually do have a marketing campaign behind them.

I'm waiting for the first of any of them to find and notice a Stones Archive release. They know nothing of them...

Were your brothers aware of Hampton or Brussels when they first were making the collectors rounds decades ago?

No they weren't into boots. They know I'm certifiably crazy in my devotion to everything Stones, so its second nature for any of them when they see new Stones activity like a release, a tour announcement, a new magazine cover to try and be the first to get to me before I hear about it...rarely happens because of this place...but it has happened. In any case no Stones Archive or Google Music mentions from them.

Do you really think these shows are mixed to perfection? The sound doesn't bother you after 3 songs. I loved them when they came out, and they are still ok on computer speakers, but wow they hurt to listen too on the home JBLs at top volume. I gotta go back to the boots for that.

Hampton was not edited. It's hard to tell with Brussels, since I didn't have that show when it was released.

LA Friday 75 is still not confirmed... We'll have to wait till April 3.

I concur, Leeds 71 would be amazing.

I'd take LA 75 too though.

Brussels is missing 3 songs.
Hampton....all songs are there, but there are lots of cuts between tracks, so you can't make it match with the DVD, for instance.

I think he means "do you know if they will release 73-81-75 bootlegs....and where to buy them", not edit.

Is there any confirmation on the April 3 release date other than the original post?

Yes. I got a Facebook post this morning from the Stones site.

FB stones page.
The next StonesArchive.com/ Google Music bootleg is released this Tuesday 3rd April. Catch up on the last two releases, the Brussels Affair and Hampton Coliseum 1981, here >

The general feeling seems to be LA, is this leaked or just wishful thinking on some people's parts?

This cover artwork has been posted on a Japanese website last week:

I think it's a fake. But maybe i'm wrong. But it's on the lettering : there is something wrong.

I bet on a Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tour (Atlantic City, Wembley) or a Voodoo Lounge Tour (Miaimi 94) concert. We've got 73, 81 so, the next one will be newer than Hampton. And if it's an older than Hampton, i think of Paris 76. Or El mocambo.
Voodoo Lounge Tour (Miaimi 94) concert is already out on DVD - then wouldn't be anything new..... hopefully the 77 El Mocambo

I don't know if it's fake, but the handwriting is definitely not the same as that on Hampton. But I don't know if it's supposed to be the same. I've read that Stu wrote all the labels and stuff, so if the handwriting is supposed to be Stu on both, it's not his handwriting on one of them.

I'm no handwriting expert, but just at a glance I can tell they're different. On Hampton the L's are very curvy, like one long pen stroke, and the L on Live almost looks like a C. On this LA Friday the L's are two pen strokes at a right angle.

Forensic handwriting course over.

I thought LA FRIDAY, in all of its variants, was an audience recording.

That's right!
But they also recorded those shows and many others from 75. We'll see what happens . .

Well, I was hoping for a '75 show as that was the first time I saw them. Still, this would be the first in the admittedly young Archive Series where they didn't remix and remaster a well known multi-track. As good as the audience recording of this show is, there's nothing for a Bob Clearmountain to do but mess with equalization settings. IF they replicate this long beloved two-channel bootleg from multi-tracks I would be mightily impressed.

Don't underestimate Bob's abilities to do magic here. He has plenty of tools in his chest besides EQ. Lets hope it isn't squashed too much. I have seen him work wonders several times and live stuff gets treated a bit differently than say the Some Girls Deluxe. Fingers crossed on this kid. peace

I hear you, but I think that maybe the less the Stones over-think this, and the more casually they treat it, the better off we probably are. If they did a physical release they would probably put them all in an over-priced box set, and would probably be tempted (though not necessarily would) do overdubs and mess with it.

On Twitter they said there would be hints coming before the release. So far.....nothing! confused smiley

Now about the lettering on that Japanese record - to me, it looks like the letters have been traced. And it just doesn't have that 'Stones feel' about it (think Exile and even the Winos which is not the Stones, I know). But still....

Sorry, I've searched this board but I haven't found any topic with StonesArchive.com and a concrete april date. And I've expect this topic still on page one on a real Rolling Stones messageboard.
So I'm very sorry, indeed.
