Justin, talk to me before the BB Bowl show. Don't even think about driving to the Bowl, park n ride is the only way to go, and cheap!

yep.
In all seriousness though, its evident that something's happened in literally the
last couple of weeks to change what plans they had.
The Stones office getting Ronnie's passport sorted for some 'extensive
travelling' within the last month proves that they really were planning to tour
later this year.
Putting two and two together (and probably getting five), it just strikes me that
the recent live appearances by Keith made someone - be it the band themselves or
a would-be insurer or promoter - think twice about any prolonged touring in the
short run.

In all serious... on a tour.

Well, this is sort of a relief - at least now we have another year to save up for ticket money.Quote

"A top concert-business source confirms the reservations over Richards’ condition and suggests that it is more likely that the band will avoid traveling in favor of camping out in major cities for multinight runs in arenas, similar to Prince's recent stands in New York and Los Angeles".
Not trying to be a wise guy, but I remember proposing this idea about a year ago on this forum. Of course I was "gunned down" by some of the regulars here.
There were a number of us that suggested this, myself included though I may have suggested 5-6 cities between U.S. and Europe. I still think it makes sense. And maybe make a couple of the shows a pay-per-view since obviously not everyone is going to make it to the actual shows.

I would imagine that when the Stones got together to jam it was evident then that Keith wasn't in shape to tour. I doubt that he was kicking ass that day but then pulled a 180 and sucked at the tribute performances.Quote

Keith's performances are probably part of the reason at least for the tour idea to be shut down. It would be a train wreck. The Sumlin and Chuck Berry shows make this clear.

Whilst I never heard a SINGLE venue even strongly rumoured, everything pointed to
a series of extended runs in a few American cities in the latter part of the
year. Just a few days ago, Mike Love of the Beach Boys even mentioned that the
reason that HIS band were touring in the summer was because he knew the Stones
would be on the road in the fall.

personally i just don't see multiple nights in major cities. how many people would travel to see the stones in LA, chicago, NY, boston? mick has said 60% of the audience at a stadium show have never seen the band before.

Here's my prediction.....
2012 - record new album - and do all the other stuff.......docs, more outtakes, open supermarkets..., etc
Autumn 2012 - rehearse - play some of it plus it live in a few small clubs to warm up..
2013 - 50 cities worldwide........extra multiple shows in some
Kick off...MSG - Jan 2013 - (I've thought that likely for awhile)
Short US tour........
South America, Australia, Japan etc........break
Europe - summer 2013..........break
Another short US tour in the late autumn
Maybe a return to London just before xmas to finish off.........
The Fat lady sings
All the above with Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman and other guests included as and when needed.......

Thanks for posting.
What's wrong with Keith?
50 years of hard living? He hasn't been quite the same since the brain surgery, and then there's the arthritis (although travelling wouldn't really affect that I don't think)

5 continents in 1/2 year seems to be quite much, when the news state: "Stones insiders say that one reason for the delay is Richards' health, which has raised questions about his ability to make it through a worldwide tour." and will be expensive and difficult if the tour requires special stage etc.Quote

My guees would be "simple stage setup arena conserts" in bigger cities like NY, LA, Chicago, SF and then similar in some bigger cities in Europe like London, Paris, Frankfurt, Barcelona.
