We have all seen how keith wacks that idiot with his Tele Custom during Satisfaction (Hampton Coliseum) but does anyone know who the idiot was?? I have seen the video of Keith saying "he bailed the guy" and "he still owes him 200 bucks" but if that was you after all this time wouldn't you come out and say " hey I'm the prat Keith hit on the head with his guitar" ?? Surely something to tell the grand children?????

Well he didn't hit him on the head. In fact, if you watch the video, it looks like there isn't an actual hit at all, more of a bump or shove. It's no wonder Keith's guitar didn't go out of tune. If he had actually hit the guy it would've gone out of tune.

I've looked at his over the years many times, I don't think it's a set up. At first I did, simply because of Keith's reaction after the guy gets dragged away. Surely if someone has just rushed you on stage and gets hauled away from security you would have a quick check to see that there was no chance of him coming back. Keith doesn't, he never glances to the wings, not even for a milli second, he just looks at mick with a little grin. What swung it for me as being genuine is Jagger's reaction...watch him, he really does look shocked and he definatly checks the wings to see that the guy has been haulked safely away.

I don't think Keith makes much impact with the telecaster, it's more a push and shove session. I really think it was genuine,..but why has the guy never come forward - that's the only bit I can't figure out?

has been available as a bootleg dvd for quite a while. if you don't object to bootlegs of unreleased stuff,

I think this is a great question! Just the sorts of little slices of history that I find fascinating. Maybe he had to sign something saying he would never speak of it publicly or something? Or maybe just embarrassed? Today people want everyone to know who they are no matter how stupid it is what they've done in public. But even at the time of this clip it's possible this guy was chagrined for life about his antics, and never wanted to cop, except to his closest now-corporate cronies over a cigar, that he was brained by Keith when he was a feckless youth

Great point!

You can see the security guy run across the stage right before it happened in the wide shot. This is what got Keith attention and gave him time to wind up.

(Actually on review I think it was the guy that ran right to left then back tracked the other way once ran into security on left). Either way it's real.

i think part of what's confusing is the nature of the stage and the camera positions -
the stage had that revolving element, and they switch cameras in the middle of the guy's run
it would be interesting to see the whole thing from assorted viewpoints
