Instead, for 'Out Of Control', they had Mick sort of shot up from underneath the stage (or at least the illusion of it).

Ronnie's all over the with the wah-wah pedal, Doxa! To me, he's always done a fine job on this song...he's in the background, adding texture to the song...taking a few leads but mostly at the end of the song.
I know both the B2B and NS tour are favorite tours amongst people to write Ronnie off--and at times I do agree that he was pretty absent during this time---but I believe he had some great moments during the NS tour...When The Whip Comes Down, Midnight Rambler, Out of Control...

By the time they made their way to Columbus when I saw them, the cage was gone. Good thing, probably - sounded like a cringe-worthy idea. Instead, for 'Out Of Control', they had Mick sort of shot up from underneath the stage (or at least the illusion of it).
For some reason, the song didn't seem to be played with the same intensity on the NS at tour as it did the B2B tour. Conversely, I thought 'Saint of Me' was even better on the NS tour than previously.

Mick also rose up from under the stage during the intro to Sympathy on the Voodoo Lounge Tour.

No Security, saw it in Chicago.
Strange, since there really weren't any stage props at all on that tour...
I seem to recall it both nights in DC and Detroit too.

at one of the 2006 shows i was at the big flowered inflatable tongue they had during Honky Tonk Women got stuck -
they couldn't get it to deflate all the way, and it was wiggling around frantically all through Sympathy for the Devil
which didn't do much for the menacing atmosphere they strive for in that number :E
that moving b-stage got jammed a few times too - that was always exciting!
but i digress, sorry!
