Mick in a cage, or something. No Security Tour
Posted by: The Joker ()

I read the first shows of the tour featured Mick in a cage, behind bars, then he escaped. Finally, they dropped it because it was too Barnum-like.

Any memories, pictures or videos?

I think it was during Out Of Control? If you watch the documentary in Four Flicks they have a little footage of it. Hilariously bad call to have him break out of a cage! At the very least they should have had King Kong Bundy and a couple of midgets in there with him (and Jake the Snake)..!

champ 72 is right. But I think it was the first shows of the BtoB tour not the No Security tour.

Yup during Out of Control...think it only last 2 or 3 shows at the most.

No Security, saw it in Chicago.
Strange, since there really weren't any stage props at all on that tour...

I saw the cage in Chicago too, opening night, and I would have said NOT "No Security" for that reason(no stage props), but like Bond movies, all my Stones shows tours start to blur to gether after a while...

The cage thing reminded me off a carnival side show thing where the monkey breaks out and tries to scare everyone... but honestly it was kind of silly.... but..... well..... who knows.

The Cage was in place in Denver - 3rd show of No Security.

If I remember well, we had the cage in Milan 2003 when they played Ouf Of Control.
I was in Boston for No Security and no cage was used: the stage was too small.

there's a snippet of footage of it in the Four Flicks documentary
it's hard to imagine why anyone would think it was a good idea, but ... oh well!
they figured out pretty quick that it was dumb

It was used in Oakland at the first show. I think it got stuck in the lighting rig in Sacremento. The next time I went to a No Security show (Kansas City) it was long gone.

I seem to recall it both nights in DC and Detroit too.

By the time they made their way to Columbus when I saw them, the cage was gone. Good thing, probably - sounded like a cringe-worthy idea. Instead, for 'Out Of Control', they had Mick sort of shot up from underneath the stage (or at least the illusion of it).

For some reason, the song didn't seem to be played with the same intensity on the NS at tour as it did the B2B tour. Conversely, I thought 'Saint of Me' was even better on the NS tour than previously.

Hmmmm, yeah. The more I think about it, I might be wrong. The cage was gone by the time No Security hit The United Center. Damn, I must be getting old...
Mick did shoot up from under the floor, but I thought that was at the beginning of the show?

Bring on a new tour, so I don't have to keep reliving the old ones in my brain!

LOL. Probably not a good idea - he'd probably start throwing sh*t at the rest of the band.

Yes I agree. If ronnie would of stayed sober at all this would of been the greatest tour they ever had.
