I'm too lazy to link something up, but I'll say Three Dimes Down, by The Drive By Truckers, among several other of their songs. If you haven't heard this band, you need to fix that pronto.

Secondly, "Used To Love Her," G'n'R. Sounds like a total ripoff of Dead Flowers, and I still love it.

Thirdly, aside from the female lead vocals, I'll add "Tina Says", by Those Darlins. Again, if you haven't heard of these girls, go buy their newest album (Screws Get Loose) now, because it's one of the greatest garage rock albums of all time. These girls bring the rock harder than most dudes.

The Novaks, One of my favorite rock'n roll bands. Two albums out. I could have posted several songs; all good. This one has the pretty girls though.

LOL anyone notice that almost every song in this thread starts with a I-sustained 4 chord change?

Not the whole song, but the guitar parts (at the beginning especially) are definitely Stones-inspired.

Also true of the guitars in the middle of "Cherry Bomb" from the same album. Mellencamp once opened with "Gimme Shelter" on one of his tours, so he's a fan.

We love The Hip here in Buffalo. Saw them this Summer - great live band.

Well, nearly every bit by Reef. They have the same pub rock band feeling with some strike of genius

"Set the record straight" is another one, but can't find a vid w/o sayingthis is not avilable due to Gema in Germany

Check them out, they are great

Sorry, I meant to say pub rock band with some strike of genius feeling

Sorry but nothing sounds like the Stones except the Stones. Even Jagger's solo albums don't sound like the Stones, except for his familiar voice.

Ehem, this is truely awful - sounds like somebody trying to copy Gary Glitter; not copying Rolling Stones. Then again; most songs by Kiss sounds like that.

Agree, but still they have that "naive" guitar sound, chord progressions and approach, not unlike the Stones.

I'm leaving the vocals out of this... winking smiley

The guitar sound of Kiss is nothing like the Stones. Kiss just banged out power chords. A far cry from the nuanced guitar work of Keith in his prime - even if they were simple chord progressions in many cases.

Bands like Kiss and Mötley Crue are only bad RocknRoll-jokes to me anyhow . .

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello is similar to Stupid Girl by the Rolling Stones

You mean "This Year's Girl". "This Year's Model" was the album title. EC has said they were listening to Aftermath a lot on tour when Elvis was writing songs for that record.

The Hip's Trickle Down always reminds me of Stones guitar sound. Almost a Keith chord style for sure.

The Black Crowes "Jealous Again" is the Faces not the Stones. Agree that "Casino Queen" is Stones - like. Check out Steve Earle's Jerusalem album - Amerika 6.0 (The Best We Can Do) - "Get Off Of My Cloud" drum intro into "Jumping Jack Flash" riff variation. Also includes "Go Amanda" another Faces tribute. Sheryl Crow's "If It Makes You Happy" attempts the "Tumbling Dice"/"Crazy Mama" tempo - which is inimitable by the way
