Erik, I got excited when I saw this thread!
I UNDERSTAND!
With all my back agonies, I could be more of druggie than Keith ever imagined.
But I'm...strong.
I have tried a zillion chairs and I'm get "miseries" in most of them.
Here's to many happy hours lounging in your chair...thinking deep thoughts or about nothing at all.
All best to you!

Erik - thank you for this thread - it was chairitable to break up the monotony and fanboy gushing and fantasies. I would rather read about a new chair any day. Even about the vexations caused concerning the keyboard and your girlfriend trying to keep up with your quick wit with her slatternly typing.
To return the favor of posting substantive, compelling content, today I made the most astonishing sandwich --on toasted hazelnut bread-- consisting of melted Jarlsberg cheese, avocado, mixed greens, and olive tapenade.

And thanks for sharing your menu. But really...Jarlsberg ? That's the local cheese from my location. I thought you only went for Emmentaler or Schabziger down in Switzerland....

That sandwich sounds outstanding, but possibly it's not Erik's, but another's girlfriend doing the typing? Maybe Naturalust?

This is a chair thread not a sandwich thread.
Either get back on topic or talk about wigs.
I don't mind either way.

hm, perhaps you're right, tho I'm going to go out on a limb and surmise that Naturalust doesn't limit himself to one girlfriend.

I understand the frustration, but truly that sounds like a fantastic sandwich. So let me bring it about. Would you:
A: Sit in the chair
B: Eat that gorgeous sando
C: Wear the wig
I go with B every time....sorry Erik

well...only one at a time usually, otherwise the wife gets a bit unsettled. Can you please pass the olive tapenade swiss? We're headin' out to the avocado tree with a guitar a blanket and a basket. mmm peace

Believe it or not this thread encouraged me to buy a new chair. I've ordered an Aeron...I sit on "my chair" for a living (whilst typing)...my neck is a mess - 3 herniated disks, inversion - horrid nagging pain. I spent 10 years of my life on painkillers - couldn't take them anymore. Been trying to find a holistic way to fix the neck...it's not a candiate for surgery. Point is - Naturalist - thank you for sharing this info. Is this type of doctor a chiropractor?Quote

Hey Stonesrule and Bluzdude there are healers out there who can help with back pain without drugs or surgery. Case in point is my own. I broke my back in a couple of places in a bad car accident, crushed a couple vertebre flat! All the doctors all wanted to do surgery to immobilize the crushed vertebre and the ones on either side of it. . I opted to deal with it on my own, threw away the drugs and the crazy looking back brace.
I never believed I would be permanently laid up by it and started dancing, surfing, windsurfing, hiking, the whole gambit of high level physical stuff. I was able to do it and built the muscles around the injuries to protect my back but I always had this low level pain, especially after waking up in a strange bed.
Fifteen years later I went to see this Osteopath MD who had a reputation for healing all who stood before him. He talked to me about my life for 45 minutes, had me do some simple balance and feeling tests. Then he got a BIG smile and said "I can cure you in two visits". Sure I'm thinking whatever you say Doc. He did some very minor adjustment to my back, nothing rough or hard , felt like a small push on one spot while holding another. Pain GONE!
I couldn't believe it. Just that one push by a fellow who knew the way a human body works. That was 10 years ago and I haven't had any pain in my back since. I know it sounds too good to be true but it is still feeling fine. I am more active than most too, still surf and ski regularly, hike the forest almost daily.
I think the key was the Doctor of Osteopathy. These guys are concerned with spinal fluid flow and are the original doctors, before all the other specialties came about. They have taken somewhat of a back seat to surgeons and other practitioners these days but the work they still do is MAGIC. Especially for back stuff. I can't say enough about how the one healer helped me and I hope you guys can find relief too. Drugs and surgery not the solution in most cases. I can just imagine how different it would be if I had let those guys operate on my back. Yikes!
Hope you heal well stonesrule and your beautiful wife too Bluzdude. peace

No NOT a chiropractor. He was a real doctor, an MD. Osteopath. Much different. I kinda consider chiropractors witch doctors. DO's or Doctors of Osteopathic medicine are the original doctors. The field is as old as medicine itself.
These guys can lay their hands on your back and feel the pulsing of your spinal fluid!
