For the love of God, somebody please get that guy some ex-lax.
Screw the Ex-Lax, Get this guy some Uppers. I haven't heard anything this depressing since "The Rising". You'd think with the Ultra Socialist Obama in office Bruce would be as happy as he could possibly be.... But NOOOOOOOOO , he's still crying about the plight of the poor Workin Man. Shout out to the Boss > The Poor Workin Man will ALWAYS be The Poor Workin Man, Get OVER IT BRUCE ! Jesus H Effin Christ, I swear I can't take Bruces SHITTy effin attitude or these Depressing effin songs ANY MORE !

He must had you in mind Duane when he wrote these lyrics :
'' Yeah sing it hard and sing it well
Send the robber baron's straight to hell
The greedy thieves that came around
And ate the flesh of everything they found
Whose crimes have gone unpunished now
Walk the streets as free men now
They brought death to our hometown, boys
Death to our hometown, boys ''

The gem of the album is Rocky Ground. Wrecking Ball & Land of Hope of Dreams are excellent. Depression is very good as well. Still listening to others-

Although suspect at first -I'm liking the music - will purchase - listening to new or any music via PC does no justice to fan or artist alike.

The guitar work in "You've Got It" is a cross of Allman Brothers, Neil Young, and all. It's awesome!!

..and as boring as usual

He's not always.

But I did get "The Ghost of Tom Joad" the other day believing the hype that it was another "Nebraska" (which IS brilliant).

It's not.

I agree. There seem to be about five songs on that record where he does his two-chord Woody Guthrie imitation. Had he done the whole album like the title track, with nice subdued arrangements and the pedal steel, it would have been great. Sometimes Bruce just tries to hard. When he sings about Mexican immigrants, for example, he is just not very convincing. And I say that as a fan.

I agree that it's a flawed record but the opening sequence of 5 or 6 songs is almost just as brilliant as unsurpassed Nebraska. I hold the record in a very high esteem despite being slightly languid. It's certainly one of his least accessible but definitely one of the most rewarding releases he has ever put out.Wish he'd record another album in that vein but somewhat more concise and coherent.

I think Bruce consumed a hefty bowl of Lucky Charms before the recording session.

No, not Lucky Charms. Too much sugar for the NJ boy. Raw oats. It's in his rider.
Like that line in Annie Hall, "I'm going to have the alfalfa sprouts and a plate of mashed yeast."

What I love about Nebraska is that it is his 4 track Porta-Studio cassette demo tape that he carried around in his pocket for weeks.

They tried with the band to record the demos in the studio but perferred the demos released the demos.

It's quite staggering actually and just goes to show you DON'T need all that studio nonsense.

You just need talent a tape and a microphone.

Atlantic City - one of his best tunes ever.

I think the new tour will emcompass many diffrent approaches. It should be a lot of fun if one has an open mind.

i am a huge Bruce fan , but i am not a fan of this one. heard it on youtube and i am very disappointed. nice lyrics but poorly produced. the music itself leaves alot to be desired. not looking forward to the new songs played live on the new tour. IMO.

Doesn't Emmylou Harris already have an album titled WRECKING BALL?

Yes. It was a 1995 cover album named after her version of the 1989 Neil Young song (he sings backup on it), and produced by other fellow Canadian Daniel Lanois.

It is expected to move upwards of 200,000 units and may even unseat Adele from
the number one spot she has owned for most of the past year. For one week anyway.

A few weeks ago Adele was only moving 100,000 units but maybe because of the
Grammys she's surging again.

One lesson from Adele's success seems to be that young overweight women are
simply a huge demographic. They consume many many units. Of everything.

It is literally the reason why singers like Christina Aquilera and Kelly
Clarkson have started to put on some extra weight.

Quite funny really.

Yeah, Bruce is singing about revolution again, but I'll you what the real
revolution is right now...

Fat girls buying things that other fat girls like.

Instead of buying things that skinny girls like.

The thunderous economic repercussions are just beginning to be felt on
sales floors everywhere.
