Good news from Apollo.

Keith gave plenty of room for Clapton on stage, true gentleman, never overplaed or pretended to be a guitar hero, had good sense of style and class.

Are you speaking of Clapton or Richards ?

Sang well with his world weary but charming blues voice of his, and played just fine. Nice traditional blues at very sad - due to the passing of his friend, Hubert Sumlin - memorial event.

Played just fine? Do you even know how to play a guitar?

Whether or not Keith can still play remains to be seen in the context of the Stones; what he's used to. Guess as much as we wish for the best, we have to be prepared to accept that Keith may not be able to play much anymore although he may still surprise us. I still maintain that a tour featuring Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman would be worth seeing even if the bulk of the guitar duties must fall to Wood and Taylor. For people who have loved the Stones for 50 years, I think many of us would like to see Keith on stage one more time even if he can't do what he used to. He deserves a standing ovation and heartful thank you and farewell from those of us to whom he's given so much happiness for so many years.

If you want to fork over that kind of cash just to stand in front of a "demi-god" that's not even going to deliver on what put him there in the first place, go right ahead. I'll be sure to wave at any video clips I catch on my laptop.

Even though I agree with your sentiments, didn't he have gotten quite many standing ovations during the yaers and tours already? To my eyes, at least two last tours have been exactly like that. We are cheering to see our hero(es) still out there one more time, and not much minding that the actual musical output. Frankly, that is something I remember occurring to mind when standing in the middle of the same Rolling Stones hit triumph, watching the same manouvres, teh band - and especially smiling Keith - seemingly enjoying the atmosphere of adoring audience, and I remember thinking "deja vu: how many times this same pheneomenon can still be repeated? Does this still have a point?". I mean, if they - or Keith in particular - don't tour ever again, they surely should not feel that we fans hadn't shown them enough of gratefulness or how much we appreciate and admire them.

Well, i wont argue with you since you don´t have any idea at all what you are talking about. If you think that Keith plays better than ever and that he doesn´t have problem with his head and fingers and will go on a 150 date or what ever world tour with the Stones once more, then do so. I´m not the one living in a dream world.

What are y'all smokin'? So what if Keith can't play anymore. So what if the Stones don't go on tour. They've done it - a lot. They don't need it. They're not addicted to it. They don't crave it. If they did they would have toured already.

It's one thing perhaps to pay for a expensive ticket and feel like you've been ripped off because someone has a bad night, it's another to speculate on soemthing that hasn't happened yet - the actual official retirement or a tour.

I agree. The overall sound is all that matters, however, it is important that Keith at least contribute something. Mick Taylor would help. Jeff Beck has always looked like a Stone to me so why not sign him up if necessary. What a great addition.

There's only one thing worse than a Keith Richards who can't play anymore, and that is Jeff Beck's terrible screeching he calls guitar playing.

KR's guitar style has had more influence than many of this maniac shreders. Beck is appreciated only among technical guitar players, not for the general public. I call it snobism. I do not want RS with Beck and with any other tan KR
