Please show respect when posting on IORR. Lack of respect, especially in a thread like this one, in memory of one of the greatest singers in modern times, is both an offense to me - the editor of IORR - as well as most other people who respect those who sadly leave us far too early.

If you have been to a funeral then you do know how to treat people being sad and how to talk in such a place. If you do not have something nice to say in such a setting, then it is my duty to act.

Thanks for your understanding and respect.

And what is your argument against that statement? Of the last 25 years, her voice was peerless whether she was rock and roll enough for you or not.
Jeez, what is it with some of you people?

That's a great tribute from Chris Cornell...and an incredibly poignant eulogy from KC...

Thanks for all just above.

Did many of you watch the CNN lengthy broacast at Whitney's childhood church today or just those posting on this page.

As I read many current threads I am amazed at those who don't seem to feel any sense of humanity.

It takes her out her 'fame' and humanizes it doesn't it?
Some people only seem to see the sequins and so it must be easy for them to be blasé or cynical.
It is sad. To only be able to empathize with a loss that directly affects your personal life. What a loss for them.

A beautiful ceremony. Saw parts of it today. Kevin Costner didn't move me that much though. But what about Donnie McClurkin doing "Stand"! Just beautiful! And The Winans family "Tomorrow". Gospel can't be better than that. And I had previously never heard of any of them! Here is McClurkin on "Stand". Sorry for the poor quality, it's a secondary source.

Here is a clip in better quality of Cece Winans at Houston's funeral.
