Thanks. That's a great little clip, and proof positive of crystal clear widescreen footage of Hampton. Bring on the BR DVD.

Thanks, Seitan. Haven't seen it either. Mick says they filmed both nights. So maybe, if they do release a DVD it will be even better than the pay-per view version? Another thing: Keith says that the guy who went up on stage was heading for Mick. To me it looks as if he was just trying to run across the stage.

I think he was really protecting the Rebel Yell. He just used MJ as an excuse...

Really? You think it looks crystal clear? It looks like a VHS copy on my screen. I think if they released this on BluRay people would howl about the picture quality.

I do think it's interesting that the Hampton and Brussels interview are from the same time and place. I guess that all six releases have been decided on, mixed, and interviews recorded. I'm really surprised there has been no leak of the 4 remaining shows.

Keith was talking about Hampton at length in September of 2011...so, are these "Vault Shows" already all planned?

Are you using a crystal clear screen or just a plain old screen?

Nice lookin at Keith in a studio in Sept 2011 talking about the Stones. The way Mick says Goodnight with a southern drawl, strange, is it tongue in cheek like his exile country tracks?

Here is the other part of that interview: 2 free tracks Waiting on a friend and Dancin wityh Mr. D do require credit card entries so not entirely "Free", I thought the Stones would do better for their fans in that department. peace

The picture quallity of the Hampton 81 excerpts is just perfect - much better than the best bootleg that circulates. The whole featurette looks like a DVD bonus (which it is not, it would not leak, I gues) rather than an advertisement for the "official bootleg". I say it again: Please, release this on DVD!

Check out the recent thread I made. The Stones just put clips from Hampton on their official youtube channel! So maybe we are in luck for a DVD!

The clips there have horrible sound, even worse than my bootleg dvds. I wonder what's the source on those YouTube-clips? confused smiley

I noticed that Jagger and Richards filmed their interviews about the Hampton show in late 2011 (Jagger's in August and Keith's in September). Looks like all these bootleg series releases were already set before we even heard about them. I'm betting that Jagger and Richards did one big interview each in Fall of 2011 with sections focusing on each of the 6 releases and as they come out, we'll get the parts of each interview devoted to that particular show to accompany the release.

Point is, all of the begging on this board for El Mocambo or any other show is useless. The Stones probably already knew what the 6 releases would be before we, the fans, ever knew there was a "Bootleg Series".

I hope we get something rare or unheard. But it probably ain't too likely. Still, I'm thrilled that they're doing this. It's definately a move in the right direction and I hope they keep on coming beyond the 6 promised.

That would be my guess too, however there is a chance they decided on, let's say three releases, and then awaits what the fans want, but I wouldn't bet on it.

... i'm sorry we're not in the midst of the hippie-entrepreneur era anymore, but we're not.

of course the contract with googletunes (or whatever) is for six specific concert releases,
not "six shows that we'll figure out as we go along after you see what you have,
what's salvageable and what that implacable iorr crowd wants"

on the other hand, googletunes isn't the only possible avenue for releases, so we can keep asking for El Mocambo :E

I had the exact same reaction when I saw "August 2011" flash across the screen. Ah well, they're not ones to leave much to chance...

One question: precisely where does it say that there are only going to be six releases? I've looked at the Archives set a number of times and I guess I just keep missing it. But I've seen it referred to here numerous times.

Why stop at six? Run up to a tour maybe?

It takes a bit time to mix all these shows, recording videos etc. It doesn't come out of the blue. Stones will neither hire Bob Clearmountain to mix one show for a few days, wait two months, hire him for one more show etc. He has probabaly already mixed all the shows that will be available. Everything is set for a line of releases this year.

The 'six releases' were referred to in the press stories which announced the launch of the archives site and the release of the Brussels bootleg.

The line was 'six releases in the next year'. It didnt indicate whether the series stops then or continues beyond that year.

The logical reason for releasing them at this time is that its a way of marking the band's 50th anniversary.

THAT would be the factor which would make me lean towards it just being a short-term arrangement, although as there's nothing to suggest the band have much of a future as a recording or touring act beyond 2013, it's certainly a project which they should be able to continue indefinitely. It would be interesting to see how many downloads were sold.
