the UK at #3!

Incidentally, and this hasn't been mentioned anywhere I don't think, in the song
and video, "the hardest ever" is a reference not to Will.i.am but to Mick
Jagger. Will keeps going harder, using ever more advanced technology, until he
gets to where Mick Jagger already is, without any such technology. Mick in
the song is "the hardest ever". And who can argue with that?

Maybe Jagger's involvment really doesn't have any impact on the sales or interest at all, especially not in UK. Remember how poorly "Goddess In The Doorway" sold in UK.... what was it; 500 copies the first 2 weeks ?

It peaked at 36 on the U.S. charts then quickly fell off the charts but reentered. It is still on the latest hot 100 chart (#61).

I hope, Mick and The Rolling Stones will do much more modern stuff (a little like SuperHeavy, Maroon5 and Will.I.Am), we are living in the 21th century now.

Some older fans, still living in the very past, may be pleased by some more releases from the stonesarchives ...

We don't HAVE TO like the song, do we? And Mick doesn't have to stick within old formula's either,
does he? If he enjoys doing things like this, please let him. The Superheavy experiment turned out
to be pretty enjoyable to me. This one not so much. But who knows what inspiration it brings him
to walk new roads that I might come to like.
Remember how the most creative songs came out of the Stones in times when they let themselves
be inspired by other artists (Ry, Gram, Billy, Nicky).

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away
