For me the best MT, tunes are usually the instrumentals like Giddy Up, Tusks, Spanish, Going South and CYHMK. I find the blues tunes a little boring, Fed Up With The Blues, I Wonder Why, Red House and to a lesser extent You Shook Me. Mick is clearly an Albert King fan, would much prefer a King song like Drowning On Dry Land, more melodic and Mick could stretch out a tasty extended solo.

I do agree. Both blues and boogie-woogie are more or less outdated genres these days. Something for the geriatric care. Of course they will survive but more as a musical influence than by itself. I think that Mick T stayed with the blues too long, hindering his progress as a musician.

Mick does that a fare bit, on a lot of his boots he quite often plays a few bung notes, slips into the wrong scale or whatever but its not new, he's been doing it for years. Its the way he plays, never plays a song the same way, always changing it, guess its a remenant of the Mayall and Stones live days when the songs varied from show to show.

Hopefully we will get some new boots from this little tour and maybe we can get a clearer picture of where he is at.
