PETER GABRIEL WANTS FANS TO DIG IN THE DIRT FOR "SO" MEMORABILIA
12/21/2011
Peter Gabriel wants fans to help him celebrate the 25th anniversary of his 1986 album "So" -- though it will be 26 years when a special edition of the set is released in 2012. Gabriel is asking fans to send him memorabilia related to "So," including posters, concert tickets and personal diary entries. A note on his official website explains that, "We may ask to include your images in the new re-issue or on Peter's website, but to start with please send us your photos and scans in a small file size (maximum of 2mb) plus your contact details. Please send us your memories and souvenirs by the next Full Moon on January 9th, 2012." Items can be sent to [
www.petergabriel.com]. No firm release date or other details about the anniversary edition of "So" have been revealed. The founding Genesis frontman's fifth solo album -- and his first to bear a title other than his name -- peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified five-times platinum in the U.S., launching the hits "Sledgehammer," "In Your Eyes" and "Big Time." It was also nominated for four Grammy Awards and won a pair of Brit Awards, while the "Sledgehammer" video won nine MTV Music Video Awards.
