I don't get all this nonsense.
Keith can play guitar perfectly well for the purposes of the Rolling Stones, or for any music that he's interestred in playing.

For years his fingers have probably precluded a lot of the technical fiddly stuff[ which was never his forte anyway]

...but his taste, tone, timing and touch remain undiminished...WHEN HE'S PAYING ATTENTION AND NOT LARKING ABOUT !

Yeah, the open G stuff has always been a bit technially fiddly.

I much prefer Keef's 'standup act' these days anyway.

as long as Keith is contractually prohibited from playing any more solos on "Sympathy For The Devil", I am not worried about his playing.

Excellant example. When supposed to be playing a solo on SFTD, Keith is typically more occupied with trying not to fall over the scaffolding at the FOS and mugging for the punters with blow up palm trees ;^)

Make that "as long as the Stones is contractually prohibited from playing SFTD" ever again...

It would be eventually possible to play some technically difficult tracks like "Time Waits For No One", "Sway" or "Moonlight Mile" if MT would join in. SFTD could be a los tres guitarreros-track (without sleepy fingers).

I think they did a good job with Moonlight Mile in 1999. Sway didn't work, mainly due to Mick's singing, imo.

If Mick Taylor is back, I would wish for SWAY, 100 Years Ago, HeartBreaker, Moonlight Mile, Time Waits for No One, Plundered My Soul and Gimmie Shelter.

Shattered and Fingerprint File or Out of Control, might be interesting with 3 or 74 guitars as well.. smiling smiley

Adding "Winter". Inofficially it is, I think, a Jagger/Taylor-composition. It would be great to hear MT soloing live on this track.

May be I am wrong but is it the first time that Keith, Charlie and Ron get together( without Mick) to jam having in mind that the whole band could eventually get back to work? The jam session is basically a mean to see if the engine can still run and how fast and well can it go. Then once the motor is tuned up and operates as it should, Mick will hopefully take his seat and drive that @#$%& full speed, down the rock and roll lane.

keith has changed it to "december" in recent interviews. him and mick probably
still working on some demos (which will be in play even if jagger bypasses the
sessions themselves)

I hear ya RobertJohnson, great call on Winter. Mick Taylor does an incredible solo on this song on the Carla Olsen lp The Ring Of Truth.

In fact, just heard "Winter" on "Too Hot for Snakes plus". Is it the same version you mentioned?

33,000 views over a jam session? Ya think there might be just a little interest in the Stones working again?

Actully I don't think that is such a huge surprise in a Rolling Stones fan site.

Do we know or any wild guess where in the UK Keith, Charlie and Ronnie are going to jam? Does Ronnie still have his mansion with a recording Studio in Ireland?
